Out-of-state Visitor Questions about Gameday

I am looking for guidance/advice from local ticket holders.

I am coming into LA from Phoenix with my 2 sons (adults) to attend the Miami game. I have my tickets (section 8L), but I have not booked my hotel or transportation yet.

Is there any advice on a hotel/transportation combination? I need to fly out late Sunday, so Burbank is kinda out of the question. I will fly in/out of LAX.

If I stay by LAX and rent a car - what lot should I park in? How early should I get there? Will I still make a 9:30pm flight home? Sounds silly, but your traffic is pretty bad. :-)

Should I stay somewhere else and ride the Metro? Where is a nice area to stay and catch the train? How long a wait is it after the game to get on the train? I assume they are all packed.

I sure hope there will be an RFU tailgate before the game. I can contribute $$$ but I am not sure I can bring beer/food given my travel status.

Any and all advice is appreciated!

Thanks Rams brothers and sisters!

You should make it back to LAX with 2 hours easy. I'd be surprised if you weren't to LAX by no later than 7pm

If you want to take the Metro look at staying in Santa Monica. You can grab the Expo line to the Coliseum. Plus you are not far from LAX in Santa Monica and can take surface streets to LAX if freeway is packed.

The trains are packed after the game but you could take an Uber as well. I've done that once(arrive by Metro and leave by Uber) and worked out well.

I would almost say that we sticky a thread like this as there are plenty of forum users that will ask these same questions and the answers are certainly valuable!

Btw, if it's not sticky'd, then I'll be posting an exact same thread for the 12/11 game as I am booked to come down from the Great White North to LA for our 7-9 Rams! 8-)

Or you could stay in Culver City and Metro to game. Culver City would be cheaper hotel costs and very close to metro line and LAX.

Use this trip planner from Metro.

I like Santa Monica or Culver City because only one train to the Coliseum and both close enough to LAX (can get to LAX and parked within 30-45 no matter what)

Metro or uber or a combination of both would be my biggest recommendation here. Absolutely no reason to rent a car and park in a lot.

I fly from Bay Area and take Burbank. SUPER easy. 8 min Uber ride to North Hollywood metro. 50 min ride to stadium.

Then opposite on the way back.

What makes Burbank great is that after the game catching the 7 ish flight there is NO ONE in the security line. Walked right through.

Getting on the Metro after the game is pretty crazy but not as crazy as it first seems. There's this disorganized mad crush to get in line but once you're in line it's actually pretty organized and goes quickly...

Glad to see a post like this. I'm looking into going to the game tomorrow and was considering the metro. Do the park and rides get full really early? What time should I get there to ensure I get a parking spot
