Thomas: Rams' Kroenke Talking to Other Owners More Than in Past

St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke has garnered the reputation of a silent type who hasn't typically spent time fostering relationships with other NFL owners.
But that's changed this week at the NFL owners meetings with the topic of relocation to Los Angeles at the forefront of the headlines, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
"It's been interesting, not just myself noticing, but a couple of other reporters who go to all (these league meetings), they see Stan talking to other owners more than he has in the past, whether it's in the hallway as they're leaving a meeting room and so on," Thomas told The Hollywood Casino Press Box on Tuesday. "I saw Stan at (a party where they have the media and the owners' families are invited). He doesn't always go there, so in his own way I think very much Stan is trying to work the owners and sell him on his plan."
Thomas said until 2012, he would sit down with Kroenke and talk to him about the Rams' on-field product. But those days are long gone, he said.
"I saw him last night and he said 'Hi.' It was kind of like the old days. He was actually a fun guy to talk to in the old days. He said 'Hey Jimbo.' I kind of got up to maybe follow him, but (Rams COO Kevin Demoff) kind of guided him off the lawn there. He's rebuffed every kind of attempt to talk to him by everybody."
