So Gurley Can't Catch?

last year gurley ranked near the very bottom in target % per snap played and more than a few believed it was because of his newly repaired knee, that the coaches didn't want to expose him to the type of hits receivers take, open space hits, which i thought was a pretty tough sell.
flash forward to 2016 and gurley again ranks near the very bottom in target % per snap played, 28th among the top 32 rbs... the average target % for the top backs is 9.6%, gurley is at about half of that at 4.9%.
i'm not suggesting that gurley needs to become marhsall faulk 2.0 out of the backfield, or even one of the top targeted backs (for example ware 32%, d.murray 28%, forsett 21%, deangelo 12%, etc.) but c'mon, you're going to throw to him once in the seattle game?
anyway, i think it's just another example of the rams offensive brain trust really not having any idea of what they're doing, just another example of them being in way over their heads when it comes to offensive scheming.
gurley is a playmaker, one of the premier playmakers in the league, and the best the rams can come up with is running him ad nauseum into a stacked box hoping that he'll break one every 10-15 poundings? good grief.
