reporters are sharks, cutthroats, and only claim solidarity when they think their profession is under fire, had a good friend who worked for the sf chronicle for decades then the oakland tribune, the stories, oh my, altho my faves were his telling of how dead print media is, funny, funny stuff, waxed on about the huge budgets they had in the '70s and '80s, and the huge xmas staff parties and perks that resulted, to the bitter end, when xmas parties consisted of a cold-cut platter and fake tree, and almost no staff in attendance....
