I'll be there Tuesday Wednesday

My old stomping grounds. Went to high school a few minutes up the 101 in Ventura. I'm only a couple of hours away now but it would have been nice to have them right in my back yard back in the day.

I wonder if Oxnard has gotten any better or worse since the late '80's? Wasn't the best place back then.

Looks like I'll be there Tuesday and Wednesday. "Bubba's RV ----Rams Fans in LA Central". Brats and beer Tue. Nite!

Since the late 80's, they bulldozed my high school* -- I take that as a move for the better -- opened the new hospital on Rose Avenue, did lots of work downtown, bulldozed the Esplanade and opened an entirely new (nice) development. The area "on the other side of the tracks" has been developed up if you ignore Colonia. I think the second tower was since the 80's. I'll vote "better".

All that being said, I left over 20 years ago and not looking to move back.

Yep, I'm a Bulldog. Remember when Ray Olgy was the football coach at Buena? Former camp body for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers so he was given the job of HS football coach. Total moron. I moved there before my sophomore year and made it a priority to seek him out and get a playbook so I could get ready for the football team. I was informed they didn't have one. No, not that I couldn't have one early or that they just weren't ready for that particular year, they just didn't have one. Any wonder our team sucked?

Ventura HS was the better team by far but neither Ventura HS would cut it against teams in the Bakersfield area.

The high school football talk got me poking around to high school days and then I got totally off track.

Anyhow, it's surprising to run across an OHS alum that most of the people on this board have heard of and a topical alum at that.

Kevin f'ing Faulconer, the Mayor of San Diego went to my High School and was there part of the time I was there. No, I don't remember him, but I think I remember his sister . . . .

So, I guess I'm obligated to protect my fellow Yellowjacket from the villainous tyranny of Fabrini.

Possible fly in the ointment for me attending Oxnard TC with Cowboys. I might have to be in court as a witness that week. I'm hopeful I can get out of it. It was supposed to be this week, but the judge re-scheduled, just my buzzard luck. I may just say "f--- em, I have plans already. Every time I make plans for something I want, some crap licke this always co0mes up.
