Rams QB "news"...uhh, I mean "spin"

I suck at embedding tweets so hopefully someone else can help.

Rams not interested in making "significant investing' in Fitzpatrick

Rams sitting tight at QB
http://www.turfshowtimes.com/2016/3/11/ ... ase-keenum

So the Snisher spin factory must be about to sign either RG3, Johnny cocktail, Fits, Kraep, trade for Glennon...and will draft a QB.

Awesome media manipulation...from we will be bringing more QB competition into the building either via F/A, trade, or draft or some combination of those, to we are sitting tight at the QB position.

Gotta love this time of year

2016 NFL Free Agency: Los Angeles Rams "Sitting Tight" At QB, No Roster Changes Expected

The Rams have said they're comfortable with the Keenum-Foles-Mannion trio. Is it time to start believing them?

In writing up the latest Colin Kaepernick rumor, I opened it with this paragraph:

The Los Angeles Rams are currently sitting on a QB trio of Case Keenum, Nick Foles and Sean Mannion. If the public comments of Head Coach Jeff Fisher and Les Snead are to be believed, they're comfortable riding that trio into the season and using free agency and the 2016 NFL Draft to improve the team elsewhere...much to the discomfort of a large portion of the Rams' fan base.

That certainly gets corroborated with this report from Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson:

After giving Case Keenum a first-round tender, the Los Angeles Rams are sitting tight with their current group of quarterbacks. Despite reports, they have not made a serious overture this week toward Griffin.

That first-round tender the Rams gave Keenum on Wednesday should tell you how serious they are about ensuring he's back in 2016. The real key is that this suggests the Rams aren't going to play with free agency at QB. The draft may be on the table, but if the report is to be believed there's no reason to any movement on the QB depth chart between now and April 28.

Sorry RGIII/Colin Kaepernick/Ryan Fitzpatrick/uh...Tavaris Jackson fans.

..
I watched this year's Super Bowl -- I get the Fisher Philosophy.
A Team doesn't need a "great" quarterback to win the championship.
..
However - the Rams Defense is not (IS NOT), on par -- with what Denver placed on the field last season.
I don't think it's even close.
..
I know - I know - I know --- spending big bucks in free agency does not buy you a Championship.
..
I even buy into the philosophy -- sign your own players first.
But don't develop a draft pick for four years, and let him hit free agency.
As coaches, you know what you have.
..
BUT GOSH DARN IT -- Do Something (anything), to make the team better BEFORE the DRAFT !!
There are to many holes to fill !! And, all of the holes can not be addressed through the draft.
..
The Fisher Philosophy (for the draft), is draft the best possible player (according to their scouting reports).
But Fisher/Snead roll the dice to often on players with potential, often-injured players, instead of "plug-and-play" types of athletes. Look at the Packers, and Patriots.
..
Free agency is part of building the team. It's just as important as building through the draft.
But gosh darn it -- you have to make offers to players who are on the Free Agent Market.
You can't just keep waiting until training camp -- and sign whoever is left out there -- to put a "good" team on the field.
..
I understand Fisher philosophy.... It just drives me CRAZY !!!

Denver won with a HOF QB who happens to be in the conversation for GOAT
Really cant see how Case Keenum/Sean Mannion/Nick Foles is in any comparison to that

It's funny how people forget that when talking about Denver.

Yeah Manning is physically a shadow of his former self but mentally he's 100%, and probably the best of all time.

And then there's HC Gary Kubiak who came up as a QB and OC, lot of offensive brain power on that Denver team...

We may not need a great QB, but we sure need a solid OC and HC. We don't have the latter two, and that makes it impossible to know if we have a competent QB. Damn shame as I'm not getting any younger.

It's no surprise to me. They just don't value the QB position. Worse, they don't know how to use it or protect it.

I guess that's what is most frustrating. I'd be willing to accept someone who didn't know what they were doing if they could make up for it in other ways. But Fisher actually thinks that he's smarter than everyone else.

He sure does seem more smug lately.

Maybe Fisher knows he is getting a big contract extension?

The other thing that annoys me about Fisher is that we have more assistant coaches than anyone else in the league. Fine, if we are winning the Super Bowl, but we are not. Why does Fisher think he knows something the rest of the league doesn't?

I think Fisher definitely knows he's getting an extension. I guess it's good that he isn't making moves out of desperation but he also isn't making moves with any sense of urgency.
