As a Yankees fan it is a great listen. I am looking for that same feel for the LA Rams. The Beast and Roggin seemed perfect as he talked Rams a ton. Now with the Beast gone I am looking for that local LA sports talk station to listen. I am anti ESPN so LA710 is a joke. AM 570 is more dodgers and I can look at Leann Tweedan but not listen to her. What are the best options until the Rams pick a radio home? by max 9 years 4 months ago Total posts: 5714 Joined: Jun 01 2015 Sarasota, FL Hall of Fame Re: Sports Talk Radio POST #2 Where in the NY area are you?I'm living in Fairfield, CT right now. About an hour from NYC. More so in Eagles country but I get WFAN on radio and Yes network on my dish to watch the Yanks. by Elvis 9 years 4 months ago Total posts: 41570 Joined: Mar 28 2015 Los Angeles Administrator Re: Sports Talk Radio POST #4 I keep turning on 980 by habit when i'm in the car and they've been running some canned show about the history of the station.570 and 710 are pretty useless for me. I find i'm listening mostly to the Mighty 1090 in SD since they talk a lot of NFL.Hopefully someone will fill in the void here in L.A. Once the Rams get a flagship station, that should help, they'll build a lot of programming around them... The 2 most likely would be 570 (home of the dodgers and UCLA) or ESPN 710 (Home of the LAkers and USC). Other candidate might be 790 KABC (Home of the LA Kings). I do not think that 830 would be a choice as that is more an Orange county station (as the home of the Angels and Ducks) or it could be something weird like in San Diego where the home station is a FM Rock Station.Damn you 980, It was the perfect match! If I was to guess, Im thinking ESPN 710 has the most money so will probably get the deal. by Elvis 9 years 4 months ago Total posts: 41570 Joined: Mar 28 2015 Los Angeles Administrator Re: Sports Talk Radio POST #8 It would be ideal, i think, if the Rams go to a station other than 570 or 710 and then that new station can build their whole identity around being the Rams flagship station.OTOH, if they do end up on 570 or 710, they'll become a lot more focused on the Rams because of it... Programming throughout the day will start to focus on the Rams. Regardless what station they go to, The Dodgers and Lakers are still going to be the main focus. It's going to take more than the Rams just showing up to knock them off the top.
