Though as Jim Rome would say, "allegedly"..
Apparently Phil just might have invested with someone named Greg Silviera, a.k.a Gordon Michaels (Blazer Sports), a.k.a John Carrington (Sycamore Sports), a.k.a Anthony Bollinger (Probability Sports), a.k.a. Marty Adams (Select Sports), a.k.a Bob Dunbar (Score), a.k.a Howard Battle (Sling Blade Sports), who authored something called the "Football Bettors Guide" and also, not coincidentally,
happened to own the top two rated sport services on the ratings list.
Just bringing it up as refresher to one of my favorite Rick Reilly pieces from SI, where opens with some blasts from the past, including
Dr. Ron Bash, Jack Price and Kevin Duffy. Has it really been 25 years since this was penned? Still timely. Wow.
