What do you guys think of Hackenberg? maybe we take him in the 2nd round and take best player available in the first or trade back. We can grab a WR in the first or that TE we need (Henry?) thoughts? I know he's a project but I feel we have to keep trying till we get it right.

IMO I'd pass on him until at least the 3rd round. Needs coaching and development. That won't happen with this Offensive staff under Fisher.

He's got an NFL arm no doubt. Haven't seen a guy meltdown in a game as much as him though except maybe Nick Foles...

Pro Football Focus Grades Christian Hackenberg as UDFA

Pro Football Focus has been unveiling their 2016 NFL Draft rankings, with an intriguing name appearing among the UFDA’s in this year’s class of quarterbacks: Penn State’s Christian Hackenberg. Hackenberg isn’t the only surprising name that PFF lists as an UDFA, as other notable passers without a draftable grade include NC State’s Jacoby Brissett and Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott.

BP’s Take: Christian Hackenberg looked every bit the part of a future franchise NFL quarterback during his freshman season in Happy Valley. That seems like an eternity ago. Over the last two years, Hackenberg has looked more like a long-term project than a potential building block. That said, I still believe has enough raw talent to justify a Day-3 pick. In fact, it’s likely that he’ll be selected in the fourth round after teams have a chance to reshuffle their board between days two and three. The other two players — Brissett and Prescott — will be fun storylines to follow. Brissett makes legitimate NFL throws on tape and has an NFL frame. His pacing, i.e. the speed at which he plays the position, needs a lot of work but I don’t think it’s that glaring of an issue to cause him to fall out of the draft. Prescott is a guy that I can see going undrafted, largely because of his inconsistent tape and murky projection moving forward. He’s a very good athlete and a very good football player; I just don’t know if he has the arm to ever become more than a third-team QB. It’s rare for a team to invest a draft pick in a quarterback who is as much of a project as Prescott is likely to be.

I just don't see the wisdom to adding another project QB to the mix since we already have one in Mannion.
If they draft a QB, it had better be rd #1 and immediately start him.
