Brandon Doughty Thread

Yes, so everyone's got their favorite first round, 'can't miss' prospect. I'm going to go in the other direction.
I think this guy would be a great value pick as a 7th round supplemental pick or later.
Brandon Doughty, WKU.
(Lots of borrowing from here: http://www.hogshaven.com/2016/2/10/1092 ... doughty-qb )
The positives -- led the division formerly known as D-1 in passing yards with 5055, TD's 48, completion percentage 71.9%, third in Quarterback rating 176.5, and fifth in yards per attempt at 9.4.
Production is production, right? This guy produced! Also, in today's football, with practice limits, and coaching contact limits, a player needs to be more personaly responsible for their own improvement. This guy improved over his last 3 years. http://espn.go.com/college-football/pla ... on-doughty
The negatives: He doesn't have elite arm strength or size and on clips I've seen, he did birddogs receivers.
He was unimpressive in the all-star game, throwing 2 picks, including a pick 6:
Also, his 2015 LSU game proved that passing for 325 while completing +60% can sound a whole lot better than it looks -- but also, it was one of those Directional School vs. SEC school at home game, bad/slick turf, he seemed to play "better", relatively speaking, starting the middle of the 3d quarter, and this was his worst game of the year:
And in talking about record production, there's this:
