Here's my final mock draft:
The Rams trade their first round pick (#26) and one of their third round picks (#90) to the Browns for their second round pick (#33) and third round pick (#67).
Round 2 (33): Trey Amos, CB, Mississippi (Sr., 6'1, 195)
I previously had Shavon Revel in this spot, but I don't think he'll last this long. Amos fills the Rams' need for an outside CB with good size and enough speed (4.43) to match up with WR1s. He'll be a starter by the end of his rookie year and beyond.
Round 3 (67): Ozzy Trapilo, OT, Boston College (Sr., 6’8, 316)
Staying with my Version 2.0 pick here. In the short run, we need a third OT who, in the event of an injury, can come in and succeed in pass protection. That is where Trapilo is deemed “camera ready.” In the long run, he could succeed Rob Havenstein as a long-term starting RT.
Round 3 (101): Demetrius Knight, ILB, South Carolina (Sr., 6’2, 235)
Another 2.0 holdover. The Rams need someone who can come in and immediately compete for a starting role at ILB. I think Knight is that guy. He reminds me of Kobe Turner… older guy, climbed ladder from smaller school to major conference, passionate, good leader. He’s also no slouch as an athlete, having run a 4.58 at the Combine.
Round 4 (126): Tory Horton, WR, Colorado State (Sr., 6’2, 196)
No change here. The Rams are looking pretty good for 2025 at WR, but they’ll need to look to the future. Davante Adams is, of course, an older player, and Tutu Atwell is only signed for a season. Horton has nice size and seems to be over the knee issues that plagued him last year (ran a 4.41 and had a 37.5” vertical at the Combine).
Round 6 (190): Cam Jackson, DT, Florida (Sr., 6’6, 328)
Another guy I'm sticking with. He’s a big, run-stopping NT who can give Poona Ford a breather and also help on 3rd/4th and short. Nice utility piece with some upside.
Round 6 (195): Brashard Smith, RB, SMU (Sr., 5'10, 194)
In the short run, he's a new toy for Sean McVay, who can produce big plays in the running game, passing game, and as a kick/punt returner. In the long run, if Kyren Williams is not re-signed, he can be a RB2/3rd down back behind Blake Corum.
Round 6 (201): Kitan Crawford, S, Nevada (Sr., 5'11, 202)
Still looking at a Nick Scott-type special teams coverage ace/rotational DB. Crawford's an explosive athlete (4.41 forty, 41.5" vertical) who can excel in this role. With the new rules encouraging teams to avoid touchbacks, we need guys who can make plays to pin opposing teams deep on kickoffs.
Round 6 (202): Joshua Simon, TE, South Carolina (Sr., 6’4, 239)
Still like this pick. I know that many Rams fans are hoping to see a TE much earlier, but I’m just not seeing the match (guy I really want gone by #26 or, if we wait, gone by third round). Simon is a guy with some good skills and upside. Worth a 6th round flyer.
