I still don't think they will extend Kyren Williams. I think it's more likely he will be traded.

Thinking about that, knowing the Rams' penchant by doing right by their guys, the logical trade partner would be the Chargers. Kyren stays in LA and is still with a playoff contending team.

The Chargers need a number one RB, and Kyren fits that need perfectly. Jim Harbaugh likes running a ball control offense, and Williams is better than Corum.

The Rams would trade Williams + their #140 third round pick for the Chargers #55 second round pick. The Chargers get a proven, relatively young RB as #1. The Rams get a decent 2nd round pick that gets them a high value player such as a CB, QB, RB, or TE. Probably CB and QB being primary positions they might target.

Be it the Chargers or another team, it makes sense to get something for Williams rather than allow him to walk. They have Corum and whatever RB they draft.

Pick #140 is the second pick in the 5th round (held by the Panthers) so... huh?

I won't be shocked if we don't extend Kyren right now, but I don't see a trade as a likely scenario.

Like Mulder, I’ll own this - They aren’t trading K Will and they sure as hell aren’t trading him unless and until they drafted his replacement Corum so far ain’t that guy.

I don't understand the infatuation with getting rid of Kyren Williams by the Op.

I also don't understand the "home run" threat necessity either. Pretty sure home run td's by rbs are RARE, and just happened to be Barkley's highly visible runs that bring the attention.

IMHO I think Kyren Williams is a top 5 back.

I really hope they extend him.

He's great at hitting the holes and getting important positive yardage.

I'm happy with 20,30,40 or 50 yard non-homerun runs.

I see no need for RB other than backup competition, maybe a 6th round pic or udfa. Again just my opinion.

I think the Lions have shown an excellent approach to the RB room. Have 2 equal skill-level backs that each have different individual skills. They lose nothing when they move from one to the other. One can get power yardage, the other can break a run to the second level and take it the distance. I see nothing wrong with the Rams adding a back with the latter skills. They don’t have that guy right now. If they did, it just adds more dimension to the offense and makes them that much harder to defend.

I don't know if they will extend Kyren. I do think he will be our running back this year whether they extend him or not. The window is open for us again. They aren't going into the season with Corum and an unproven rookie.

I think the Rams are sincere when they say they want to extend KW but then again i wouldn't be that shocked if it went down like Ernest Jones last year...

Me neither. They will extend him on THEIR terms. He can either take that deal, be traded, or be released. Because he is in the last year of his rookie deal, the Rams almost certainly will draft at least 1 RB. But, like Snack said, no way the Rams rely on Corum, Rivers, Schrader, and a Rookie. And they could even get a vet close to camp.
