3. Stafford : Yeah, rose colored glasses. I know. But he's won it all and the Rams wanted him back.

4. Burrow: Not below Stafford because of rose colored glasses. He unexplainably makes dumb plays at times. Call me when he wins it all.

5. Lamar: What???? Not top 3??? Not better than Stafford??? Nope. He's a great runner with a cannon arm but has serious brain farts. Then seems to laugh them off. Call me when he wins the conference.

6. Goff: He approaching the prime of his career and he's doing well.

7. Herbert: love his mobility/passing combo

8. Danials: Showed a lot in college, showed a lot as a rookie. Poise.

9. Maye: Played really well on a shitty offense

10. Love: I like his style and confidence. Arm ain't too shabby either

Honorable Mention:

Tua....too many concussions and too much wrecklessness

Stroud.....down to earth in year 2

Hurts....Barkley saved him. Fewest pass attempts meant less mistakes/indecision

Nix.....might get in the top ten eventually. Lets see how year 2 goes

Mayfield....always counted out so why should I be any different?

Lawrence....over rated

Nah I think that you have regular glasses, it's just that in this case, reality itself is rose colored.

Stafford is a real deal #3, IMO.

For one thing, along with everything else, he's as clutch as they come.

In a recent interview, Dotson said that when the game is on the line "even Stafford's eyes are different." (From memory--that's a close but not exact quote.) Meaning of course, he has a real deep-set game face when it's clutch time, and it's an authentic picture of who he is in those moments.

It's not just that he won 3 consecutive (consecutive) "come from behind in the 4th quarter" games in the 2021 postseason (including of course the super bow)...

...heck, one year in Detroit (2016) the Lions went 9-7 and 8 of those wins were 4th quarter comebacks. (!!! ) Who else has ever done that? If there are others it's a very short list.

I think 4 QBs go off the board before the Rams pick at 26. Rankings can be misleading. Teams pick their QBs not just by need but to fit the offensive scheme they want to run.

1. Cam Ward probably goes as the first QB not necessarily as the draft #1 pick unless a team trades up to specifically take him. He's probably the most rounded talent in this draft which isn't bereft of talent as many contend. The QBs simply require a closer fit to be successful, i.e. a scheme that plays to their strengths, protecting their weaknesses. Nix and Penix are examples of that. Prior to the draft they weren't rated as high as others but Nix with a coach that plays to his strength has validated his talent. Penix will do likewise in Atlanta given the proper scheme adjustments and a reasonable roster around him.

2. Shedeur Sanders will probably go next. I don't see him as plug n play talent. He should have reasonable success if played as a rookie as will probably be the case. But year 3 will be where he shows how good or not he is. IMO he's a bigger gamble than Ward.

3. Riley Leonard has legitimate long term potential. It remains to be seen how long it will take for him to realize it. Most teams will start him as a rookie but I think it would be a mistake. At least a year as QB2 would be of immense value to him. His inconsistencies hint both of high ceiling and potential bust. But he brings a legitimate threat as a dual threat. If he's on a team that is primarily running an RPO offense (like the AZ Cardinals) could start him as a rookie with expectations of success. I would be shocked if the Cards don't take a QB this year. Which is why I have Leonard on this list.

4. Jaxson Dart is a classic QB combine riser. Some team has probably fallen in love with him and I could see him going somewhere in the top half of Round one. He is very talented but IMO is clearly a QB that would need at least one year to be coached up. His inconsistencies shouldn't be ignored. He needs good coaching to improve his reading and decision making. He would be best as a year two starter having had a developmental year. But like Sanders I think the jury will be out until year 3.

I think most of the QBs will go on the second day.

I think Sneads comment about wanting to know how fast the QBs come off the board is a tell. He would want to know if he should move up or stand pat if they are indeed looking to draft a QB in the first round.

All this stuff about over drafting is BS. People were skeptical about the tradeup for Fiske. But Snead knew he was the perfect fit for Shula's scheme. The #26 pick is essentially a high second round pick with first round trade value and the important 5th year option. That extra year is bigger than people realize. You only need to look as far as SF to know they wished they had that option with Purdy right now. They've only had two years, one good another not so much to make a decision on how much he's worth.

McCord is my pick in terms of QB they MIGHT be targeting at 26. He's got the arm talent they want, he's an experienced pocket passer who has shown he can go through his progression at a reasonable speed. As I pointed out if you look at him in comparison to Stafford his game is very similar. He will likely drop because he's not a dual threat QB. His mobility IMO is similar to Goff or a young Stafford. He isn't without his issues which is partially technique and partially decision making. Being mentored by Stafford and the Rams coaches should be a huge advantage to him, especially since Matt's game is very similar to McCord's. The Ram's "need" to extend Stafford this year with an option for 2026 is another tell IMO.

Why risk your franchise QB to run the ball on a designed RPO? You simply draft a RB with breakaway potential to gain the same threat advantage and increase the effectiveness of play action.

Dude. He’s is ranking current NFL QBs. Not the wish list of college QBs you keep hoping the Rams draft.

Oh let the professor type away and teach us all that knowledge he has to share. Either he's a member who writes a lot and doesn't read much (beyond his writings) or he's AI. Any thread with QB in it sends him into a flurry of information about Stafford or the QB class. Like a pre-set trigger.

Agreed. Who’s better post season ? Maybe Allen. Can argue Mahomes.

Mahomes, Hurts, Stafford. The only SB winning QBs of that group.

Last year he played 5-6 games at the start of the regular season behind an injury depleted OL, and then played his final 4 games at the end of the regular season with rib injuries.
