Love getting him back early. Now he is with the teams through OTA's etc. Now we can draft another CB or two and they can be eased into the defense.

If accurate, sounds like it's pretty close to the vet minimum before incentives.
Playing time sure but why Super Bowl? I mean how much control does a corner have over that?

I think most of us were hoping they'd bring him back. It does ease the concerns about the position. Although I think maybe they still need to improve it. Maybe through the draft? If one of the top tight ends is still there at 26 I think they would grab him. Or even move up a few spots if he's getting closer to 26.

They are set at CB in terms of starters this year. With Witherspoon, Durant and Forbes they are 3 deep and 3 deep at safety with Lake, Curl and Kinchens.
This allows them to take a CB in the 3rd round and coach him up for a year. They did likewise with Forbes.
With Landman they also have another year to coach up a drafted ILB. But Landman has potential to develop into a starter along the lines of Jones who he is very similar to. His 2023 season was good but he got derailed by an injury last year. He's not the most athletic ILB but in a support rotational role which is what that second ILB position is he could turn out fine.
Unlike most I don't see ILB as a pressing need because asking an ILB to play well vs the run then drop into coverage and play well there is asking a lot. If they want coverage just drop Lake down into the box. That second ILB can be covered schematically which is why they were okay with allowing both Rozeboom and Hummel leave.
But back to Spoon, having him back is important as he is serving as a bridge or they would have signed him for more than one year. I think they view Spoon as the #3 or #4 CB at this point until Forbes proves he isn't ready. The contract incentives reflect a rotational role. IMO Witherspoon is playing for a ring and his contract hints he would be behind Williams in a reserve role.
Williams is technically under contract but with less than $2M in guaranteed if he is on the roster at the start of the season. He looks like he's rotational depth only at this point.

So far, going by Spotrac and OTC, it's the vet minimum ($1.255 mil) with no incentives...

Yep it's what I think too elvis.
I can see the Rams taking a CB in the 3rd round, no later than their 4th round pick. Durant looks promising, but he must continue on his developmental trajectory. I think they are hoping they have their starting CBs in Durant and Forbes.
This would give any CB a year to develop with no pressure to play. It's exactly what they did with Forbes and it's the right way to develop a CB. People underestimate the difference between the needs of a collegiate CB and one who can be good in the NFL. CB is one of the most technique intensive positions in the NFL.
Williams and Spoon will allow the Rams to take a second or early 3rd day CB and develop him into a starter with a red shirt year and not having to play him prematurely. It would seem to be a good plan.
