https://theramswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/rams/2025/03/18/2025-nfl-draft-rams-les-snead-quarterbacks-first-round-picks/82519330007/

Hmmm the author assumes its to see what positions will likely drop? Huh?

If they were looking to draft a first round CB they would be interested in how many are being taken in the first round to determine if they should move up or stand pat. At least that is the way I'd see it. If they aren't interested in a first round QB why would it matter?

The author's logic seems flawed IMO. LOL But I've been hearing similar comments from others regarding Snead's wondering how quick QBs will come off the board. It's why I've been saying I think they might be targeting a QB in the first round when I add in other indicators.

Yeah to me it seems like they have one maybe two QB possible first round targets. Regardless it's a strange article. I assume the author has heard the same things I have and it's why he probably asked Snead about it.

The more QB’s taken in the first round (reaches) by other teams only increases the value of your own pick as quality players at other positions drop to your spot, whether you take one at that spot or trade down.

I think the Rams may draft a QB but not with their first pick. I think they trade back, go after a TE or CB.

If Rams can get Loveland

Watch for yourself:

Snead is saying all the QBs taken early last year probably helped Verse fall to the Rams but he doesn't expect that to happen this year.

Snead's a pro. The idea he's gonna tip his hand one way or another is silly...

I think there’s one superstar in this draft Quarterback superstar traits and that’s Cam Ward. He has a lot of Patrick Mahomes to him.

He can do alot run and throw and has a good body meaning he can take a hit and move around in the pocket. Might be hard to bring down.

Shadeur looks kind of small.

The more QBs, LTs and Edge (the most popular 1st round positions by far) that go off the board in any given year, the more chance you have to get a guy who doesn't play those 3 positions. And if you're looking for one of those 3, then the more gone, the less chance you'll get who you want if your picking in the late 20's. It won't stop some guys from saying, "SEE??? They want a QB!!! Like I've been saying all along!!!" Nobody knows what position the Rams are interested in and like you said, Snead isn't going to tip his hand.

Some "facts".

They signed their QB
They signed their LT.
They've drafted 2 VERY talented Edge/OLB the last two years.
The QB pool is extremely shallow in this draft.
The Rams have been entirely unpredictable under Snead and McVay.

All I can say is "good luck" with predictions. If you happen to guess right, it is luck, not a result of some calculated knowledge.

Roster is solid most everywhere. Rams know what they want and have a stack of players. They will get one, whether it's stay put, trade up, or trade down. What we don't know is what position they value most highly: CB, TE, future RT?

Homerun last year. Full confidence they will get another plug and play dude with their first pick. A QB would be insane, and the Rams aren't crazy or desperate. My last jersey buy was Todd Gurley; I'm getting a Verse one now. PA is right, he got put in our lap by all the QB and other picks. Rams know what they want, first pick whenever it happens will be a great player.

Agreed I think anyone outside Ward is not close to a 1st round QB. These teams make the same mistake over and over again drafting QB's way too early.
