Nate is more in the mold of the current style of MIKE to play behind that wrecking ball called Ford. It will free up Speights to use his speed to flow to the POA. This is the type of ILB I hoped they would get. One who understands his role and has the ability to compliment a NT like Ford. If Nate can play to his 2023 level (pre-injury) the Rams have found their long term MIKE.

I'm glad both NT and MIKE are vets with the experience to play fast with confidence. This front 7 is going to be a QBs nightmare. I think the Seahawks might regret switching from Geno. Smith is far better under pressure. The ghosts of NY rose up and took him out of his game in the Wildcard game. That more than anything is why the Vikings said thanks but no thanks to Sam. Basically I see Darnold as a lateral move not an upgrade.

Ford and Landman are clear upgrades to Brown and Rozeboom. With Adams, Nacua and Atwell/Whittington the only thing missing is a RB with breakaway speed. TE is for next year as Higbee will be starting for as long as he's healthy.

I welcome the return of Jimmy because if the Rams get out big to a comfortable lead in a game I think Sean will use it to rest Matt and with Jimmy the Rams have a very capable QB2. McVay learned his lesson, no more conceding games to rest Stafford. Rest him if he needs it but the Rams will play to win in every game. If they implement the change in playoff seeding they will have no option but to win every game and not coast to a finish like they did last year.

I expect Landman to be extended next year and with Ford the Rams will fling the SB window wide open for multiple years of SB contention. Holding out Forbes was a very smart move. They spent the whole year polishing him into a starting CB and Witherspoon's contract reflects that. Both Witherspoon and Williams will be rotational not starters this season. Take a CB in the third round and they will have a year to coach him up to be a rotational starter.

Durant is in a contract year so I can see them extending him. But having another CB that that has been in development for a year gives them options.
