This was a surprise, but I think McVay plan is to give Tutu a bigger role and can do that without Kupp around. Sounds like Drob's legal issues may keep Rams from signing him.

It is a surprise, I didn't see this coming. I like Tutu, I hope it works out well. Can't say I don't have my doubts, though.

Well, if this means he's gonna get more opportunities I'm all for it. He can run decent routes. Hands are pretty good. And he's usually the fastest guy on the field. He got around 3 and a half targets per game. That's not gonna cut it this time with that salary. Now that you paid him you gotta use him. Otherwise its a bad investment.

Yeah sounds like DRob's legal issues are the problem. Too bad because he was a good fit. This is a bandaid as I think the Rams fully intended to draft a WR regardless. They don't need a high pick to do it. Just look at Kupp (3rd rd), Nacua (5th rd) and Whittington (6th rd). I think they will take a WR on the third day.
More than DRob is whether they can come to terms with Ahkello Witherspoon. The can't afford to make the same mistake twice. A 3 year deal with the third year being an option year. It gives them two years to draft and develop the next guy. I view Forbes as an addition not a replacement. Ideally they need to be 4 deep at CB.

More flexibility for the type of WR they go after next. So, Puka, J Whit, Tutu will be main guys it seems. Going to be interesting to see how they shape the 5 eligibles on the whole.

I think the real work to be done past the 5 eligibles is at DT and ILB. A lot of in house FAs who could be leaving. And Corner as Dare mentioned. I’m not sold on Forbes at all-camp will tell the tale there. And re signing AK Spoon is a no brainer to me. They do that and they are positioned really well for outside FA’s, trades, and the draft.

That seems like a lot for a player that McVay has seemed to forget about at times. Hopefully with this salary Tutu actually sees the field much more and is utilized as a weapon in the offense

Forbes is an interesting case. I don't even know why he fell out of favor in Washington. He was projected to be a first round pick and was taken at number 16. The talent is obviously there. He performed well at the combine running a 4.35 forty.
He's got length for a CB but his frame is very lanky. They had him at 6'1" 166 lbs in college and he's listed at 180 now. Pretty thin for an NFL corner. Not sure if he's gonna be able to stay on the field against stronger competition. But the measurables are interesting with they guy. We'll see how he fares in camp.
