Senior Bowl Thread - Pay Attention to the Great Predictor!
PostPosted:1 month 2 weeks ago
We draftniks will spend the next 3 months eagerly following the Combine, Pro Days and team visits in an effort to rank prospects and predict which players might end up on the Rams.
In my opinion, though, there is no greater predictor of NFL success than the Senior Bowl.
Clearly, the Rams value this "audition" as well, as they have historically selected a large number of Senior Bowl standouts. Last year, by way of example, the Rams drafted 6 Senior Bowl participants (Fiske, Kinchens, B.Jackson, Limmer, Karty, Davis).
I'll have a lot of thoughts and observations as the week progresses (and hope others will as well). As a starting thought, I'm interested in seeing how the Second Tier of QBs fares. Cam Ward (Miami) and Shedeur Sanders (Colorado), who are both expected to go before the Rams' selection, won't be there. Two who will be, though, and could be intriguing options if the Rams are in the market of their "QB of the future" are Jalen Milroe (Alabama) and Jaxon Dart (Ole Miss). Both are rated as Day 2 prospects by most, but a strong week could cause either or both to rise.
