FOUR Tries on the Eagles 20 to try to complete the comeback and nothing. Add this to the list of heartbreaking playoff losses:
The Two Super Bowls losses to the Pats
2003 vs Panthers in Double OT
Last year vs the Lions
And now today vs the Eagles

Rams have to get younger, faster, more explosive on offense.

They knew going in that stopping the run was their ticket to the next round. They didn't do it. Great teams win these games. Brady won these kinds of games. Stafford is not Brady. I give them a lot of credit for getting this far and actually having a chance to win this one but in the end, like in the end of those other seasons, they didn't get it done. The question now is what will it take to get to the next level. Stafford isn't getting any younger and it now seems like QB mobility is where the NFL is going. Sigh...another tough loss. Damn...

Stafford didn’t false start. Stafford don’t turn Jalen Carter loose. Fix either of those plays and we likely score and probably win. Then what would you be saying about Stafford? He was hardly the problem. The fumble was bad. He was trying to make a play. It happens. Happened to Brady many a time.

The line definitely lost the game.
You can’t have a false start there. Not at that point of the game.

Heartbreaking? Absolutely. But a few things were made clear.
As good as Williams is, he's a fumbler who does it at the worst of times. He's going to get released. Corum will be the #1 RB.
Stafford is done. His lack of mobility and his fading arm were evident. He's played in cold weather here and in Detroit. His arm strength isn't the same. He's due to earn close to $50M next year, which IMO is too much for a statue. The McVay offense needs to evolve and it can't do it with Matt no matter how much Sean loves him. The days of the immobile QB are over and the Rams offense must stress the defenses with a QB that can move enough to be a threat in the close redzone or get that 3rd and 5 first down conversion.
On the bright side, we saw that the defense is legit. They faced a highly regarded OL and got 7 sacks which included a safety. The offense needs to be retooled in the offseason. Shula has proved himself to be a very good DC. I hope he sticks around for another year or two. Since the bye this defense has been a top 10 unit.
So as we say "next year" we can mean it.

I couldn’t disagree more. Your standards are too low. It was a good season, but nowhere near great.
Now we need to start planning for our next QB.
