John Johnson is back at S for depth along with Forbes and Royce Freeman is signed to fill for Corum behind Rivers. Freeman is still a beast and offers that short yardage load when needed. He ran well in preseason. If he’s in shape he’ll add value to the RB depth for a playoff run!

I liked the depth Freeman brings. He's a decent rotational RB.

Without saying JJ brings a legit playmaker on the backend. Against a QB like Darnold having another experienced DB could be huge. Darnold is much like Stafford in that under pressure he will force the ball and though he more mobile than Stafford he's not a huge threat to run except perhaps inside the 5.

God I hate having to wait until Monday night.

Unlike Stafford, Darnold does not process what he sees under duress nearly as quickly as Stafford does. I think we blitz him often out of both zone and man coverage packages. I would bet Shula has cooked up some really different rush and coverage packages to confuse Darnold and make him hold the ball. Hopefully the D executes at a high level.

I hope you are right, Shula hasn't blitzed much this season.

I don’t think he goes crazy but the Detroit game gives some insight as to how to disrupt his timing while still saying fairly sound in coverage. I expect Shula to put his spin on that in certain down/distance situations.
