Just what i was hoping for, a nice boring meaningless Sunday afternoon game...

Ram fans have given Jimmy a lot of grief over the years but he's actually a decent QB with a decent arm.

It's hard to gauge how well the Hawks will play in this game. My feelings is that they will start strong but if the Rams take control the air will go out of their balloons fairly quickly. They won't want to risk injury in a meaningless game. If the Hawks were smart they would play a whole lot of backups in basically an early pre-season type of game. They need to make a whole lot of roster and draft decisions soon.

They are much like the Rams were a couple of years ago. Their OL looks mediocre and if Metcalf plays it could signal they will move on from him next year, he has a big $31.8M dead cap next year. He's only 28 but I think they are hoping to move him for whatever they can get. The problem is that the HC is under a whole lot of pressure. He's new but on a very short leash. The feeling in Seattle is if he doesn't make the playoffs next year he could be gone. So every win will be important if he's potentially going to be looking for work.

Hopefully he will be more concerned about how to rebuild his roster next year, therefore he needs to see these backups in real game situations. I think he's expecting the Rams will sit Stafford, Kupp, Nacua, and Williams and perhaps some of the OL on offense and sit Verse, Turner, Young and Fiske. Though I think Geno will play because most think he might be gone next year.

This game is on everyone's back burner hence their normal game time and day. I assume I'm in the minority on this board who think seeding and momentum is worth playing hard for. Especially for the offense that has stunk up the place the last few weeks. But I simply don't believe they will start Stafford or at least not beyond the first possession. I also think Corum will play the whole game.

Look at the bright side.....we'll get to see a lot more of Tutu and Corum!!!

Don't we want the #3 seed and face GB/WA rather than the #4 seed and face Det/Minn? Or are we already locked into the #3 seed by tiebreakers even if we lose to Seattle by resting the starters?

There's only one person whose opinion (on seeding and momentum vs. rest) is important.

And I think he made it abundantly clear a year ago how he feels about that.

Seattle has the best record of teams already eliminated from the playoffs. They are in line to pick #18 and are projected to pick between 16-18, so they could move up 2 spots with a loss. I wonder if they will go all out to win this game?

If Atlanta woulda won we likely would be playing Saturday. Now it doesn't matter. The game of the week is Sunday night. Winner take all. I'm guessing McVay sits the starters. But who knows? If we lose its likely we host MN or Det. If we win it could be Washington. They have the tiebreaker over Green Bay and just need to beat Dallas to get the 6th seed. Personally I think I'd prefer to go for the win and 3rd seed.

The only way a team will try to lose is if they sit some starters. No one's gonna tell a player to back off and not try. I'm pretty sure they'd rather win that move up a couple spots. 10 wins gives the fan base a feel good story for the offseason.

Generally speaking, I would normally think this same way. But starting sometime yesterday, I began to change my mind for this team.

The Rams' bye was in week 6. That's a long time ago. Whether Stafford is actually hurting or not, he hasn't been great since the Bills' game. I think a week off for Stafford/Kupp/Nacua/Williams might be just what the doctor ordered. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think Verse has looked as dominant lately, either.

So I say, sit as many of the key players as you can feasibly do.

And then go out there and let Garoppolo, Corum, Atwell, Johnson, Robinson, etc., etc. and play-caller Mike LaFleur do whatever is necessary to crush the Seahawks.
