My Game Assessment Against the Bills

I’ll start by saying, the Refs almost cost us this game on three different plays.
We had to play against a great team and the Refs.
But we prevailed.
Offense:
Start with the OL
They played great today.
Only giving up 0/sakes, 3/QB hits.
Opening up holes for our run game,
For a total of 137yds and 3/TD for the run game.
Stafford had a great game.
Stats:
30/att, 23/comp, 76%/comp, 320yds, 2/TD 132.6/passer rating.
3rd down conversion: 11-15 73.3%
4th down conversion 1-1 100%
Our WR:
Puka: made that unbelievable catch on the sideline,
He dotted the sideline, his stats:
14/Tar, 12/Rec, 162yds 1TD, 1/TD run
Kupp: 8/Tar, 5/Rec 92yds avg, 18.4yds/catch, 1/TD,
Making that tough catch in the endzone,
with one hand and his thigh to hold on to the ball.
Must give some love to Tutu, when we needed a first down,
He was open and there for the catch.
3/Tar, 3/Rec 45yds
Our running game:
Williams had 29/Carries, 87yds, 2/TD,
He was used as the cowbell today.
Corum came in for a KW breather.
He had 8/Carries for 34yds.
The Defense:
They played ok,
Only giving up 108 total yds in the run game.
But the passing game, not so good,
The pass rush, was off balance, didn’t really pressured Allen,
And when they did, he escaped.
I have to say though, those three penalties,
On the personal foul, on Young for the QB ruffing the passer,
That was a bad call, he was still inbounds when he got hit.
then horse collar on Verse was another bogus call by the Refs,
Verse actually pulls him by the QB's shoulders pad,
and his hand slid down to his collar.
then PI on William at the end of the game, that WR pushed off.
ST
Was outstanding.
The block punt by Hummel & recovered by H. Long for a 22yd running TD
Then at the end of the game with 7sec left,
Ethan Evans punts it high to land right before the goal line and bounce up in the air,
Into the end zone before it hits the ground to run out of time. For 1/TB & 1/Inside the 20.
Whittington KR 3 returns for an avg of 27.3
Karty 1/FG, 5-6/XP, the missed XP was a bad snap,
and the ball was not position right by the holder as he was kicking it.
Overall, great game by the RAMs.
This was a team win.

You forgot the ghost PI (offsetting) on Robinson which you can bet cost us an additional 6.
What pisses me off the most about that is you can tell the ref that flagged it knew he fucked up, but instead of just picking up the flag he called offsetting because......I guess he didn't want to "hurt" the Bills with the accurate and correct outcome of the play.

Agreed but missed extra points can be huge as that one almost was. The Rams still need to make some improvements to their kicking game.

I actually made that point on the Bills week 14 OP.

Aww But a win is a win.
It sets the Rams up to sweep the rest of the season. If they do they finish 11-6 and NFCW champs.
If this team continues and even builds upon this effort they will be a very tough team to beat in the playoffs.

Our offense scored 37 points. We haven't done that since going to Arizona last November. And it started a run that saw us score 30 in 4 of 5 games. Confidence is a huge asset and I gotta believe after yesterday's game, it's at a season high. Yesterday was the 2nd consecutive game we started the same 5 OL. We've run the ball 71 times the last 2 weeks for 293 yards. I think that is key.

The Rams were 3-7 with the crew, we did have to beat "two" teams.
IMO bottom line the Rams will go as far as the o-line and d-line take them. Keep Staff mostly clean and open holes in the run game and we are tough to stop.
The D-line getting pressure can keep our defense off the field.

Rams still scored a TD on that drive, Kyren 7 yard run, put us up 31-14.
A lot of the thinking going into this game was the Rams needed to control the clock, keep the ball out of Allen's hands, etc. They did a pretty good job of controlling the clock but Allen had 6 TD and the Rams had to outscore them, which they did.
Crazy game, not unlike what we thought this season might be going into it, needing to win high scoring games etc...

How cool is it that we've got Whittington and Corum running back kicks, btw? Need more of that. It's all about sparking the momentum and keeping players ready.
We need that cat (Jordan) turning into a baby Puka. If that happens-- we are set up for years to come.

Going to say it right now, DO NOT let Tutu sign with another team.
"Always open" Tutu is a massive weapon to utilize when you have a "got to have it situation".
It has been key adding him more to the mix. He is open by 4 yards every time.
