I liked verse from the the day he was drafted, and he has been performing up to his draft position, and then some

.... now I'm liking him a lot more.

Lots of good stuff there. My favorites.

I'm with you, I loved how it was unbelievable that he dropped that far to the Rams. I had him as the top edge in the draft. Even the Rams didn't rate him that high.

I was equally surprised that they traded up for Fiske. I had him as perhaps the #2 DT in the draft. Regardless these two guys completed the DL. Four outstanding picks in two drafts to create an elite DL.....WOW!

I also was high on Hoecht as an UDFA. He had the speed and power to be a top 3T. He's found a home as an early down OLB who is improving at setting a hard edge. I'm hoping that Speights and Fields give the Rams the starters at ILB they so desperately need. I still think they should move Hampton inside to MIKE. He has the size, speed and athleticism you want at that position.

I think by the end of the season, a nickel will be Shula's base defense. CBs Williams and Durant and playing 3 safeties of Lake, Curl and Kinchens. Lake provides them with 3 safety zone schemes or use as a SCB in match or man schemes.

The real message here is not said.

Fiske is a part of this equation.

There is no replacing the best defensive player in NFL history. Arron Donald.

But in the aggregate, you may be able to with Fiske and Verse.

How do you triple team them both? You can't!

This may very well be the upgrade of impossibilities.

It has never been better to be an LA Rams fan.

Great scouting looking at those two in tandem and extrapolating that to the NFL level and our defense in particular.

Feel like the Rams have really honed in on the type of player they want in the building these last two drafts. The players are mature, smart, love football, unselfish and oh yeah can play football really well. The last two drafts fire.....

Amazing how we form these types of relationships on such a level as such. And they can be just as important.

Yes, great scouting and draft moves! They chose them together for a reason. And it may not be visible from our eyes but between theirs.
