Not too much in here but he talks about how it's harder for a rookie to play on offense than defense for the Rams and they get that.

He also said some teams guarantee PS money to UDFAs that sign with them but the Rams don't and that affects who they get...

So the question UDFA's have to come to terms with is, do I want guaranteed money or should I bet on myself to make a good team? Money matters but......

Being able to choose which team you play for is a luxury that most UDFAs don't get. The large majority of them just want to make a roster, any roster. Making the 53 is the goal, but they'll take a PS slot. They know that's a slippery place to be, so I would think guaranteed money would be a big factor.

My questions are, how many teams do give guaranteed money, and why don't the Rams do it?

Can't they take the money and bet on themselves? You get paid a lot more if you make the 53 regardless of whether your PS money is guaranteed...

I'm thinking along the same lines ... if a practice squad player gets plucked from another team, then the player automatically gets a guaranteed three weeks on the active roster at NFL base pay. ( @$140K which is 2-4 times what practice squad players make).

According to Gemini: "Over the course of an 18-week regular season, practice squad players can earn between $225,000 and $383,400 annually".

So I'm scratching my head and wondering what the equilibrium/benefit it is for a team to offer a guarantee?

I didn't watch much of the video ... the first person of the media asking questions was Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times ... and he asked a stupid question (yes this was a stupid question) when he baited Snead to mention the players he wasn't confident in. Snead didn't fall for that shit.

I never heard of Klein before ... he sure has a weird way of making a name for himself.

Great points. Does a PS player's salary change if he's elevated by his own team?
