That’s insane. by PARAM 4 weeks 2 hours ago Total posts: 12594 Joined: Jul 15 2015 Just far enough North of Philadelphia Hall of Fame Week 9: Beat the Hawks!! (Rams @Hawks) POST #102 Don't look now but there are only 7 teams in the NFC with a better record than the Rams. An eighth, Chicago has the same record and owns the tiebreaker since beating the Rams. But they still have to play Minnesota, Green Bay and Detroit twice! Throw in Seattle and San Francisco and they have a daunting schedule. There's a very good chance the Giants, Saints and Panthers won't have a better record than the Rams. Dallas too. Tampa is 4-5 and their schedule doesn't look bad. As always, the best path to the playoffs is by winning the division and the Rams are in the thick of that. They simply have to keep winning. Particularly within the division. One certain way to contend for the division and postseason if they don't capture that is win their conference games (5 remaining) and one of the 3 games vs the AFC. Or lose only 1 conference game and win 2 of the 3 vs the AFC. A tall order but get healthy and either is a distinct possibility. It starts with Miami this week! Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there. They were saying on some games there may be a dozen cameras but the 'big games' where the #1 crew or #2 crew is on assignment, there might be 18 cameras. It's not right because it compromises the ability for replay angles. There should be a camera down each sideline and each goal line. And probably one on the end line of each end zone. That's 6. Put another 10 on the field plus that one on wires. That's 16 plus 1. If you're gonna have replay, then each and every game should have the same quality of angles to work with. After all, each game is important whether it's between two 10-2 teams or two 2-10 teams because of strength of schedule, tie breakers, etc. It's a multi-billion dollar business so treat it like one across the board. You probably saw but this came up yesterday. And i was think this is probably how it would go, only use cameras every stadium has for replays to level the field. On the other hand who really cares? It's an inexact science. Should we only use bad refs since it's unfair that some games have better refs than others? It's inherently unfair and inexact, at least to some extent. Per the league, the rollout that began in Week 5 now has goal line, sideline, and end line cameras in all stadiums except New York, L.A., Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, and Miami. The NFL anticipates that, by the end of the calendar year, all stadiums will have them.Even when the league-owned cameras (12 per venue) are present in all stadiums, their use will not expand to coaches’ challenges and replay assist this season. Next year, they will.
