The Rams signed White with the understanding he was coming off of an Achilles, that it would take time and they would give him time. The Rams had injuries, he played a lot sooner than expected, he was bad, mainly too slow.

I obviously don't know the specifics/details, where he is in his recovery, etc., but i'd go back to the original plan. Give him time, assuming he still has the potential to be a top end CB, he could still be a valuable asset...

The Rams might as well look to trade White as he doesn't have a future with this team. They certainly could use cap space. The savings would be minimal but it would give them another roster space to elevate someone off IR (Avila, Jackson or Leveston). The compensation would likely be equally minimal. I would think they would learn from the Jones trade to include a clause preventing him from being retraded back into the NFCW.

His undisciplined play wasn't much different than what got Kendrick's benched. IMO there won't be much market for him though it seems as if they do have a potential trade partner.

I can see them offering Witherspoon a short (two year deal) to provide a bridge player for a rookie they are probably going to draft. Probably somewhere in the range of $4M with probably 50% guaranteed. IMO he's worth more but as a bridge player I don't see him getting more at his age. Don't feel sorry for him he's already made over $10M during his short career.

What I like about the Rams is they don't dwell over roster mistakes. They tend to be proactive and move on.
