First, I have to give big time credit to the OL,
Especially against DC Flores defense,
with his cover zero scheme.
No sacks, and only two QB Hits.

Stafford took advantage of his OL protection.
34/ATT, 25/CMP, 73%/CMP, 279/YDS, 0/SK, 4/TD, 1/INT, 124.5/RT

He only made two mistakes; he threw it short on the deep TD pass attempt to Tutu.
Then he overthrew it to D.Rob for the INT.
But other than that, he looked great.

Both Kupp & Puka, make a big difference for this offense.
They make other WR/TE get open because the Defense key on those two the most.

RB/Williams, was 3yds short of getting 100yds, but he had a rec TD

Now for our Defense
They started out slow after giving up two TD early.
But they adjusted the second half,
and was putting on the pressure to the QB in the second half.
Verse is a monster!!!
I was so happy that the RAMs drafted him over everyone else.

Outstanding game for both sides of the ball!!!!

OL should have got every game ball. They were outstanding.

Overthrow to D Rob - I think he broke his route off too shallow.

The miss to Tutu was a tough throw. It happens.

Offense was on fire. Defense stepped up when it mattered the most.

Can’t ask for much more. THAT team can beat anyone.

A friend sent me stat on the Lions. Teams playing the Lions have lost the following game by an average of 21 points. I assume that refers to 2024 but the Vikings extended that trend!

Funny how execution goes up when you add two pro bowl WR's back in your lineup.

I literally forgot how damn good Puka is.

Both lines balled out, but yes massive game by the O-line. I really hope McVay keeps using all of his WR's keep them fresh and Atwell is a weapon dont stop. Should have been a TD. Love seeing D Rob eating. Like Big Whit mentioned everyone is back in there role. Huge

I was there and a close friend got us into one of the suites with free everything! What's a guy to do?
For all of the many great things our O did, what SHOCKED me was that our 3-4 front only gave up 64 yds rushing with Aaron Jones at rb! That's about 1/2 of what we gave up vs lesser O's!
Just having Coop and Puka back really opened up our O.
Now we sit at 3-4, only one game behind the hawks. They play the Bills this weekend and us next weekend. Still bummed that Earnest is now there, but we are improving dramatically on both sides of the ball!

Run D was excellent.

Next 4 weeks:

Seattle 4-3 / vs Buffalo; vs Rams; BYE; @San Fran
Arizona 3-4 / @Miami; vs Bears; vs Jets; BYE
San Fran 3-4 / vs Dallas; BYE; @ Tampa; vs Seattle
RAMS 3-4 / W vs Min; @Sea; vs Miami; @ N.Eng

We will have all had our byes and so the records will be even. How will they look?

I don’t know if this was a recent change that helped, but I noticed they frequently substituted Brown III (95) in on obvious run personnel sets this game.

Regardless, the line overall was functionally more disciplined against the run.

Here is the problem I have with Bobby Brown,
He has been playing DT/DE instead of NT.
I feel he would be better suited playing in at NT,
to clog up the middle.
Maybe that's how our DC wants to play it out,
clogging up on one side instead of the middle.
But after this year, I don't expect the RAMs to resign him.

Brown had snaps because Davis and Gallimore are both dinged up. Brown has shown he's strictly a rotational guy. He's strictly a one gap DT and struggles playing a 2 gap technique as played by Morris.

The OL is coming together as they gain experience. Dedich is a revelation coming out of nowhere. He was signed as a backup center for Limmer. But he's actually been outplaying Dotson who they are paying a mint. Next year wouldn't surprise me if Dedich replaces Dotson at RG but still offers backup to Limmer at center. Avila is best at LG and that is where he will stay the rest of his career.

I'm also intrigued with Leveston who is on IR. This guy plays with an attitude and would seem to be exactly the kind of temperment you want at RG or RT. How long will Havenstein play? Next year is an option year for the Rams on Rob's contract. He's got a reasonable deadcap if they choose to move on. McDermott gives them a bridge player at either OT positions considering what happens at LT. If Jackson is smart he takes the contract offered next year or IMO he's gone. He's a decent LT but not a dominating one. Either way I see an OT being taken in the draft next year on the first or second day.

The Vikings game showed that this team is most certainly on the right track. The talent that was assumed to be on this roster has been validated. Next year this will be a dominating DL with outstanding edges on both sides with good depth.

This game showed if used properly, this OL is good enough for this offense to roll until they get their injured guys back. IMO the only real missing piece on the OL is Avila. Jackson at center was an expedient move, but Limmer IMO is the better center. The defense is coming together and looks dangerous especially as the pass rush seems to be ramping up.

This team can go all the way this year IMO.

Here’s where the Rams officially rank right now on some defensive stats after 7 games:

Points: 23rd
Yards: 22nd
Net Yrds Attempt-pass: 29th
Yrds Attempt-run: 17th
Sacks: 25th

If you look at just the 2 games after the bye and calculate accordingly to match other teams’ stats for the whole season so far, where would they stand?

Points: 6th
Yards: 8th
Net Yrds Attempt-pass:18th
Yrds Attempt-run: 3rd
Sacks: 17th

Now of course that’s not definitive in any way--too many variables, and it has been just 2 games. Still, just taken roughly and broadly, which is the only way to take it right now, it pretty clearly indicates improvement.
