POST #1 TOPIC AUTHOR It's the NFL so every team has to deal with injuries. When a QB, star receiver or running back go down, it hurts. When a star CB or pass rusher go down, it hurts. Or when a position group such as the OL suffer multiple injuries, it's tough to overcome. Which leads me to a question......how much does the "system" play into how the team performs? The Rams under McVay, have always been offense oriented. Twice, they lost their #1 or #2 WR and still went to the Super Bowl. Twice they suffered an inordinate amount of injuries on the OL and missed the postseason. Once they lost their LT for half the season, had a banged up QB and still went to the postseason. This year, they're missing WR1 and WR2 and have already suffered a few OL injuries (I wouldn't say 'inordinate' yet; Avila, JJackson, Noteboom). Do they have improved depth to overcome them? Are they better at surviving injuries? They have the Bears with a rookie QB and the Packers, who may be missing their QB the next two weeks, then the bye. I'd think if they arrive there at 2-3 and get some guys back after the bye, they could be in good shape. Is it possible they get there at 3-2? Too much to expect? Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there. Whether he actually does remains to be seen, but I fully expect the Rams will play a fully healthy Green Bay. I will continue to foolishly talk sh*t about random players because they get better IMMEDIATELY after I do!! POST #3 Love really did not look that great in his one game. I'm always a little skeptical when a guy is proclaimed a top tier quarterback with only half a season sample size. He will have the advantage of going against a bottom tier defense. But if that defense is hanging around late they are capable of getting stops. They seem to have trouble early in games. I'd like to see that change.
