Rams defense has been terrible, so has the Bears offense.

That is pretty telling but they did keep the niners to 24 points and 26 points to Detroit (at home) in OT. The Cards game was the outlier.

Now I am not saying they are good, just not as bad as the stats show. I would like to see some changes this week, will see. I hope we see more Tyler Davis on the DL, liked what he did against the niners.

Well, the Rams D line can get pressure, they just need to TACKEL!

Like McVay said in his post game presser; Purdy was dancing around and buying time.

They need to do a better job of containment.

Going up against a rookie QB is a positive.

Only Carolina has allowed more points (95) than the Rams' 91. The Rams, Panthers & Cowboys have allowed a league-worst 8 TDs apiece.

Seriously, we're young. Is there anybody who expected no growing pains? But we're fast. And we should get DWill back around week 5. Having said that, I wasn't disappointed with the defense in week 1 and this week wasn't really that bad. They made some plays. Let's just get to midseason .500 or better and see how they look then.

The Rams apparently only blitz 18%. And they had something like a 47% pressure rate with their front 4. Fiske had 6 pressures. The other big 3 had 3 each. So the front, when they keep their run gap integrity, really help the LBs. THERE is where Id like to seem Hummel and Speights get some reps. I just don’t know if the Rams’s staff trusts either of them enough and/or if the staff sees what we fans see at the ILB position. The front doing their jobs allows the LBs to do theirs. I just don’t know how well the ILBs are executing when they are in the right place and working in unison with the front.

The secondary seems to be suffering from communication issues more than anything, sans players getting physically beat one in one. Not sure what they do there.

Shula's forte was linebackers. He has coached linebackers the majority of his time in the NFL. Maybe he sees what fans don't? For four years now fans have said Tutu isn't a good WR.

YES, the D is that bad if they keep allowing unsung WRs multiple TDs every week and no answer to gash runs up the middle. I’m hoping the DBs are learning on the run but Safety play the last 2 weeks has been horrid and has nothing to do with JJ being out. CB play is almost as bad, allowing all QBs 3rd & Long bail outs playing soft way past the sticks. Bring in Speights & Witherspoon. Sit Rozeboom and White, at least this week. Durant got robbed on that bad illegal contact call on the sideline. Otherwise played OK.

We're even younger than last year. Growing pains. Verse is active and can definitely disrupt things. He just needs to learn to take better angles. And learn to play contain. QB's like Murray and Caleb Williams do not do well if you force them to throw from the pocket.

Remember when we had Von Miller? When they played against Murray he didn't make a straight run to him for the sack. He knew he'd be juked. He held his ground, didn't let him get outside. Sure, he didn't get the sack but what he did was force Murray to throw from the pocket. Murray had a terrible game with that.

First off Jennings is a pretty damn good WR, yes we made it easy for him as well.

From what saw Kitchens took the cheese and gave a an easy one to Jennings. Lake got mossed and gave a ton of yards. White got beat early but seemed to play tighter coverage as the game wore on. Durant looked bad in coverage for most of the game. I also say we missed JJ as communication looked off.

Yes, Jennings is a damn good receiver.

What was that "gashing the defense with runs up the middle" in the post your replied to?

Jordan Mason had 147 yards on 28 carries ( 5.3 ypc ) vs the Jets (a pretty good D)
He had 100 yards on 20 carries (5.0 ypc) vs Minnesota (a pretty good D)
Sunday he had 77 yards on 19 carries (4.1) and his backup had 19 yards on 5 carries. That adds up to 96 yards on 24 carries or 4.0 per att.

Talk about over reactions!!!
