Love to get everyone’s thoughts here.

All in all, dams solid effort. Kept us in the game. Verse and BY are going to be scary if they aren’t already. Turner is finding out about life without AD but he played well. Fiske found out as quick as he is, the game at this level is faster than he imagined. He too played well, seemed to be in position most the time. But he will need to figure something’s out to adjust to the real speed of this game. Granted, that’s a great OL and a complex offense. We need some other guys to step up. Hoecht didn’t embarrass himself. B Brown seemed a non factor and a disappointment. But, I will need to watch him again more closely to confirm. I want to see more Gallimore (pun intended). Need Murch back - never thought I’d say that - just for rotational freshness. Durden might need a call up at some point.

ILBs played much better than I thought they would. They are the weak link but they didn’t have many issues and actually made some plays last night.

The secondary is damn good. Ya T White got eaten up on the double love. He drew a tough assignment. He was pissed. He’s a quality player. Cobie D balled out. Sucks he got hurt. Hope it ain’t bad. One bad physical mistake by Kinchens but the safeties came to play. We will be seeing one of the rookie corners at AZ if the Rams don’t sign Ak Spoon.

STs:

Did their jobs. What more can you ask.

Coach: Shula is him. That dude really had his guys ready to play, was not really fooled by anything and apparently kept it simple for his D so they could just go off. His slot blitz with Durant was a thing of beauty. I think his DL is physically challenged against big power running team. No shocker there. Jourdan has been saying since the end of last season, we need at least one other beefy at NT. We will see how well Shula can scheme around that against the teams on our schedule that have big OL and can really run the rock. But last night, he coached like a 10 year vet.

Great assessment. I didn’t watch in as much detail. More assessing the flow. Goff was frustrated but has matured to the point he now wins the close ones. We played over our heads on D and missed a ton of opportunities on offense. No running game but Stafford and Kupp look very solid. TE may be a weak unit. Our depth on D is only at DE and S. We are horribly thin at CB, LB (ILB and MLB) and DT.

The talent is there on D if we can get and stay healthy but I heard they were about to sign Witherspoon. I like how our LBs played but it’s one game and I’d like to add a LB even if it’s playing time for Speights. Stafford was under pressure all night. Goff had all day. We can’t hope to do that against the Cards or Niners. More blitzes are needed.

Have to be extremely happy with the defensive performance all around. Sticky coverage, solid pass rush, in general good tackling.

Life without AD didnt look so bad and that is the best o-line in the league and we held them to 20 pts in regulation. Now lets see what you do against Kyler and company. This was only one game, but a helluva start.

Cards are gonna bring the physical game run game, our defense will be tested!

I'd give Shula an A for this game up until that last drive. When they got near our goal line, we still had only three down, D linemen vs. the best oline. I love his aggressiveness, but late in the game he did not adjust when they were running it down our asses. All in all, I like his style and game planning.

I have always been high on the defense and they simply didn't disappoint. Brown is exactly who I've always thought he was. A limited player who simply struggles to shed blocks. This is exactly why they had the last minute signing of Gallimore. He did more in limited snaps. I see him working more into the rotation as his familiarity with the system increases.

Durant showed why I was upset with Morris for keeping him on the bench in favor of his buddy DK. Durant can be a legit starting CB in the NFL. He simply needs experience.

Verse is exactly who they hoped he would be when they drafted him. Fiske will come around as he gains experience. Young picked up where he left off.

This secondary has been underestimated all along by the media evaluators. This secondary when played properly is damn good. Now they have resigned Witherspoon WTFO. They will have depth to play Durant as Nickel to take some snap pressure off his toe. It will allow Lake who has All Pro potential to return to his safety position.

The only problem with this team is the incredible number of injuries. Injuries were the only thing IMO that would limit this team's success. But what it has shown is that the Rams have better depth on the OL then they have had in years, maybe ever. They went against one of the best defensive front 7's in the NFL and didn't break. Stafford was sacked twice but so was Goff who played with his intact starting OL.

A healthy Ram team beats Detroit going away. That's how good this team is. If the Lions are a legit SB contender than so are the Rams. If McVay trusts in his team instead of chasing points the Rams win the game despite everything.

No way am I dispirited over this loss. No one thought including me thought they would go undefeated this year. As I've been saying the early bye is going to work in their favor. The Rams can get some guys back, the new guys will be seasoned. Remember they were a monster coming out of their bye last year.

This team proved to me it's as good as I always thought they were. One thing to remember, the pass rush pressure came from the edges where the OL was hurting most. The interior held up well, including rookie Limmer. As long as Stafford has time to throw this team will always be hard to beat offensively. This makeshift OL still gave him that time.

Lots to be proud of about this team. Lots to be happy about the depth and roster quality. Oh yeah guys this is just starting and it's going to be good.

I just hope they can avoid any further devastating injuries and that the guys out now all come back around the same time and sooner not later. I hope the current players can hold up long enough, stay right around .500, then really cut it lose with all hands on deck. I would like to see how that looks this season.

The injuries continue. Now looking at November to get everyone back who are not out for the year like Kendricks. We lost Davis Allen. I saw him get the back injury and was not surprised by his being out for AZ. 2 TEs, no Puka. Man. I hope the D stays healthy. Without AD Murray will be a handful.

The D was tired and it showed on that OT drive by the Lions.

If the offense can sustain drives consistently, the D will be even better.

It should be like last year. Regardless of the offense's performance (though good performance will help), the D will get better every week.

That didn’t age very well
