I thinking 3 sacks and 10 pressures. I'm gonna be glued to our front 7!

Man that would be epic, depending on when they occur. I want to see a lot of the D forcing 3 and outs. And Turnovers.

If Shula aligns with 5 on the DL it will cause blocking issues for the Lions. Do they all come or only 4? Either way it doesn't bode well for Goff. He will have to assume he won't have much time. So the pass will be short to medium in range. Advantage secondary.
There is actual pressure and threatened pressure. In the run game the LBs will be key. A 5 man front will take up most of the blocks. Tackling will be paramount.
Although I'm assuming it will be a close game, I'm not so sure. If the Rams can force the Lions to play from behind it could get ugly for them. The Rams have the OL and the RBs to control the clock. As long as McVay doesn't chase points and simply forces the Lions to feel the pressure to score everytime they get the ball it could end up a blowout for the Rams.
The Rams are not the same team as a year ago. Despite losing Donald and Jones they are actually potentially a stronger defensive team. Offensively they are legitimately 5 deep at WR, and two deep at RB. This team could go into the Super Bowl the scariest team in the NFL.
Am I a homer? Yeah but a realistic one.

You could se a 5-2 against heavy Detroit formations and a 5-1/dime against 11P. I do t expect a lot of 2 LB looks just based on who are “starters” are at ILb.

Not sure how much pressure Young and Verse will get off the edges. Detroit has two very good tackles on the left and right sides. Kobie and Fiske might be able to get some pressure up the middle. Everything I've read about Fiske during camp and scrimmages is that he's a handful to block one on one. We know what Kobie can do. Hopefully Fiske and Verse can feed off each other like they did in college.

Even just bringing 4 the Rams can bring substantial pressure. Young and Verse bring power and speed outside and Turner with Fiske can bring power and quickness inside. It's that inside pressure by Turner and Fiske that potentially be the biggest factor in pressuring Goff. I don't think 5 OL can block all 4 of those DL one on one. The center will have to double up on Fiske or Turner with the RB staying in and picking up Turner or Verse.
I will bet Goff is under more pressure through the game than Stafford. Also, look who the 3 starting WRs are. They are far and away better than the Lions starting WRs who are good but aren't nearly the threat that that the Rams bring. Now add in the Ram's TE and the Lion's secondary will be stretched thin. I think the Rams could have the better secondary as well. Goff will be throwing quickly which plays right into the hands of the secondary.
If Shula sends 5 Goff will be in trouble. Hoecht is a legit threat as a pass rusher. The key will be to limit the Lions run game and to play with a lead. They do that and the Rams will control this game. I feel much better about this matchup this year than last.
I think we could see Lake replacing Williams. Williams is slightly faster but much shorter at 5'9". Lake is 6'1" tall and that extra length allows him to compensate for Williams slightly better speed. That said if the Ram DL can get pressure the ball will be coming out early, so again Quentin's length is an advantage. Lake proved himself in coverage last year as SCB is a much harder position to play as the receiver has more route options and requires a CB to be quicker and more agile. I think if Shula decides to play Lake as a stand in for Williams it will be fine.

Williams? As in Darious Williams?? He’s on IR I am assuming that’s what you mean by “replace”. Cobie Durant is replacing Williams. And Lake is not a boundary corner. Durant is. Durant will do very well me thinks. He’s longer and just as fast as D Will. And, he’s gotten almost all the starter’s reps in camp.

Every year is its own year but it was very hard for pretty much every team in the league to get pressure on Goff last year so i'm not setting my expectations too high and won't read a ton into it if we don't get to him very much.
Detroit's Oline was a very tough nut to crack last year.
OTOH, if the Rams do wreak havoc Sunday, could portend great things...
