I have been meaning to bring this up for discussion. Dak to the Rams if a deal isn’t done in Big D. Now Florio, ugh, has put it on the record.

If Staff retires, I can see this as a real possibility.

IF Staff retires? SURE, why not.

Likelihood of Staff retiring, 5% IMHO.

Yeah maybe but Dak is gonna get a huge top dollar contract for his next deal and the Rams have not been doing that as of late.

Maybe they're just getting their ducks in a row for the next big deal but huge signing bonuses, guarantees that mean escrowing a bunch of money, Rams have not been doing that lately...

Well, we do have to wonder what their plan is at QB next year and beyond if Staff hangs em up. He is essentially on a 1 year deal.

I actually feel Dak could be better on another team. The reverse of Russell Wilson. Not just any team. Dallas did a lot for Dak but those days could be ending.

Not from the Rams perspective...they'd have a $49M dead cap charge for Stafford next year. Even if you spread that over 2 years with a post June 1 designation, seems near impossible to manage that and pay Dak $55M.

I wouldn't assume that. He's not showing signs of regression with age. Last year was one of his better years. The numbers did not match up to his best years but he was doing things elite quarterbacks do.

If he's still playing at that level this year I can see him returning next year. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he finished the 3 years on his contract.

The only thing I can think of that would make him walk away after this season is winning another Superbowl. And I would be fine with that.

Obviously, the guy loves playing the game. He's really talented and yet somewhat underrated. I forget who said it, though I think it was Madden....."if you're thinking about retirement, you're already retired". Look at it from another perspective....."if you're thinking about next year, you're not paying enough attention to this year". I get the 'you have to plan ahead' but maybe the opaque vision for next year is by design, when it comes to the post Stafford era. They're not worried about Stafford retiring because they don't believe it's going to happen any time soon.

I don’t think he retires. But, what is the plan going forward and when do the Rams
Plan for the future?? Jourdan has speculated he might move on from the Rams. Something I can’t quite fathom. Would the Rams trade him ???
