We were laughing because many were the same ones who said the Rams probably would win a max of 5 games last year. Just shows how little they actually know. I think the Rams will win but it could be a one score game. But as with last year it took a few games for the defense to get rolling. This year they look to have a legit PK as well, one that will win games not lose them. It's going to be an interesting game. 1 by snackdaddy 4 weeks 1 day ago Total posts: 9819 Joined: May 30 2015 Merced California Hall of Fame Week 1 Rams @ Detroit SNF POST #99 RedAlice, Elvis liked this post I have no idea what will happen in the first game. Their kicker has a strong leg but is inconsistent. They will play a lot of press man coverages. That means at least one of the 3 starting WRs will be single covered, i.e. probably Robinson. But Kupp and Nacua can both beat man coverages. Also, it could open up the TE and RB in the passing game as well.Conversely, they aren't as strong in their WR room as the Rams which could open up INT opportunities with tipped balls, etc. As good as their OL is, can 5 guys + the RB stop the primary 4 Ram rushers? Maybe occasionally if Goff gets rid of the ball fast, but IMO they won't be able to stop this pass rush consistently, and as much as Goff has improved, his stats show he's still affected greatly by a consistent strong pass rush. The Ram secondary IMO is better than the so called experts are assuming. The Lions won't have DK to abuse this year. White and Curl are impact DBs.That's why even with so called backups at OT and Durant, I feel good about the Ram's chances. All the evaluators kept pointing to the so called weakness of the Rams secondary. But that was under Morris and his uber soft coverage schemes. No this is a different defense this year. I see Shula playing a lot of man, zone match and less static zone coverages. That is why I see Lake and Curl as their starting safeties and probably occasionally Woods at SCB. With Lake and Curl we are likely to see less two deep and more single high with Curl deep and Lake over the middle if Shula plays zone match. Yeah that's how I see it at this point. Some teams come out of the gate fast. Some slow. Which will it be? I have no idea. Aside from the disastrous 2022 season McVay's teams have usually started with wins. 2 by Dare 4 weeks 1 day ago Total posts: 236 Joined: Mar 09 2024 Tucson, AZ formerly of San Diego Rookie Week 1 Rams @ Detroit SNF POST #100 I like our chances in a close game.
