Only 2 returns last night. Dont know how many tonight as I don’t have peacock and dont care that much. My guess is we won’t see many if any in our game. It seems like the risk of a return past the 30 outweighs a touchback to the 30.

So far 5/24 kickoffs have been returned. That's less than last year's rate. Only two games but not off to a great start...

They either have to move the kicker back to eliminate the touch back or penalize a team (out to the 40) for kick into the end zone.

Or they can change the name of the game to Tackleball and take kicking out of the game completely. lol

The thing with this new kickoff, and again it's early, is they haven't fixed the problem but have removed the surprise onside kick from the game which was cool, rarely came up but was exciting when it did...

After a slow start, the new kick got a little more dynamic (this doesn't include MNF):

Teams are risk adverse to a huge return, but it seems like with discipline players on ST and sure tacklers you can pin them down behind the 30. Maybe as more teams take chances we will see an uptick in returns.

I am just fine with placing it on the 25 and eliminating the KO entirely though

There was talk that the new rookie kicker Joshua Karty would had taken kickoffs but Ethan Evans did so. As per the LA Times and Jordan Rodrigue.
Wonder why that the change as thought it was kind of an insult to Karty as he had in taken all but two in the preseason games the kickoffs. Landing seven out of nine in the end zone.
Seems like Chase Blackburn the STC and Sean McVay want to keep it coy. Or heard that they may want to alternate like one week Evans, next week Karty.
