Listened to 11 Personnel and Jourdan says the AD situation bears watching, not to panic but not nothing either.

If he were to retire, that's a $30+ mil dead money cap hit which would change everything.

It stands to reason the Rams are gonna have to resolve this, probably a contract extension, before they really know what their cap situation is.

Jourdan also mentioned some changes are coming to the podcast. Is she leaving, getting a new permanent cohost? Guess we'll find out when we find out...

Yeah when I mentioned it previously it isnt a done deal he is back but I do think it is more like 70/30 he is.

I also assume Jourdan is getting another co-host as Rich is missing in action. Maybe Stu will be the guy.

Based on what? Is this just another post Superbowl/Dead zone talking point to create discussion? The only person on the planet who knows is AD.....or Snead & McVay if he's assured them he's playing.

There's gonna come the day this is REAL. All the angst will be "who are we going to get to replace him" as if that's a possibility. You don't replace a unique body style/consistent leverage winner HOFer. When that day comes we're going to have to play like the other 31 teams in the NFL....with all 4 (or 5) guys required to win on their own.

Rather than take the approach, "is Aaron going to play this year", I'm taking the approach, he's playing because he hasn't said he isn't. And FWIW, unlike some fans, I don't begrudge her for bringing it up. Because it is a major topic that is nearer to realization than it isn't. It's not like she's only supposed to talk about issues she's had confirmed by multiple sources.

Jourdan is pretty tapped in and not known for stirring the pot so if she says it might be an issue, she probably has good reason to say so.

She also said don't panic but it bears watching...

I'm not saying she's "stirring the pot". She having a relevant discussion. But the fact she said, "don't panic" makes me think she hasn't heard anything significant. Whispers? Reading between the lines a bit? Adding "but it bears watching" elicits a kind of a "no shit?" reaction because it started the moment the gun went off in February 2022. Sooner or later, he's going to call it quits. So lets enjoy him while he's here.

Well Snead first mentioned this as a possibility in his pressor as well, its a thing until it isnt.
Hoepfully the Rams find out sooner than later as that will impact their plans this off-season.

Did Snead "mention it" or did he "respond to a question" about it?

If memory serves it wasnt a direct question, but he was talking about the existing pillar players and mentioned they havent heard from AD, that they hope he comes back.

AD he a lot to think about. He certainly doesn’t need the $. He has a ring. He’s a sure fire first ballot HOFer. He has only ONE thing to play for - another ring. He has to decide if another year or two is worth the trade off of his time, physical wear and tear, emotional well being. He will not play if his commitment can’t be 100.

The Rams know this and there are clearly some whispers, echoes, whatever in Rams Hall or else Jourdan wouldn’t bring it to the fore. So ya, it does bear watching for sure.

I think a 2 yr extension is in the works and he comes back for 2024. Then we go through this again. We win the SB, he retires. We get close and the team is great, and he is healthy. He takes one last swing in 2025.
