I've met and hung with Hacksaw in person a few times but because of this site he was part of my life pretty much every day. I feel this loss a lot.

He was funny, easy to get along with, preferred people getting along to them fighting and everybody liked him. That's why i thought he'd be a good moderator.

Anyway, i sent a message to his daughter via Instagram to let her know how well liked he was and how much he'll be missed here. She sent a nice thank you note back...

Yeah, Hacksaw seemed like the kind of guy who could get along with anyone. I bet if he told someone to go to hell it would be in such a way they'd be looking forward to the trip.

So sad. RIP Hacksaw. We never met, but just like everyone on this board I don't recall a single cross word with any of us - regardless how much it might have been deserved.

Can't quite explain it but the Hacksaw news really got to me. Got to me far more than I would have ever imagined. I'm cynical of social media in general but this is one glaring example of the positive impact it can have. I knew a great man in Hack that I would not likely ever have known without this site. Wow...this may take a while.

Hacksaw was a special guy.
A very positive feeling comes from knowing that many here acknowledged Hacksaw's great vibe! To me, he was smart & witty....but also a great peacemaker!
