Week 7: Steelers @ Rams

Every time we play the Steelers, I go back to Super Bowl 14, as the inspiration to hate the Steelers. I know we blew that game. Still, that should have been our first Super Bowl victory. It is still like the Vikings and Cowboys, in the 70's. That's why I have hatred against those two teams.

Trivia time! When did the Rams last beat the Steelers and which Rams player had 3 TD's in that game.

Bonus trivia time! The last time the Rams hosted the Steelers, this city set its own field on fire and delayed the start of the game - name the city!

Hopefully Kyren is indeed ok, we need him, Rivers will probably miss some games...

Not counting the SB in Pasadena, the Steelers have never beaten the Rams in LA.

Rams are favored by 3...

If Rivers is out a few weeks who becomes RB1? Freeman or Evans? I imagine Freeman being an experienced vet. They're gonna be facing a good pass rush with Watt. Not sure Evans can be trusted to help with pass protection.

Steelers are hard to figure out. They beat a couple good teams in Baltimore and Cleveland. Got blown out by 49ers and Texans. They had tough time with the weaker Raiders team.

Defensively they are closer to the bottom than the top. They give up 143 yards per game with 4.8 yards per carry. Offensively they have 5 passing TD's and zero rushing TD's. Take the two defensive scores in the Cleveland game away and their offense scores 13 points per game. Their passer rating is 78. They rush at 3.4 yards per carry.

On the surface it looks like a game we should win. But we know they will be a tough out. They have a premier pass rusher in Watt. I think taking care of the ball should be a priority this week. And keeping Watt from disrupting Stafford too many times.

I worry about not having a running back as Stafford is just too old to do it by himself. I'm also worried about Kupp, as Stafford might end up over-using him too. I'd like to see Puka more utilized, but he has to stop dropping passes.... That's a good way to lose confidence from your QB.

So we going with Evans as the starter at RB. Would not hate bringing in another vet IF Kyren cant play. We need another body at minimum. Maybe bring back Hendu? or pick up Fornette.

Wasn't that his first start? Arlen Harris had a big day IIRC.
