Slide down feet first when the team desperately needed a first down? I know that he was trying to not go out of bounds but it looked like he could have gone aggressive and would possibly have made it to the sticks. Very odd play.

Not his most shining moment . I was thinking boy hes smart for staying in bounds until I saw where they put the ball.

Actually bremillard, to answer your question about the Kupp Slide directly.....

IMO, Cooper Kupp went down because of acute clinical fatigue! :idea2:
IE. He just got tired of carrying this whole feckless Ram team on his back for half of this whole fucking season! :|

Sometimes, even Atlas shrugs!! ;) :arrow2: 8-)

Kupp coughed up the ball in a similar situation not too long ago so i think he was protecting the ball and keeping the clock going but, and it's easy to say in hindsight, i would've like to see him get as many yards as he could have. A first down wins the game...

Yeah...if Kupp gets enough yardage for the First Down, then the sideline/clock stoppage deal is moot, as Los Ramos would have 3 more downs to kill off the remaining ticks.

Alas, the 2022 Los Ramos have a plentitude of player personnel & problems :( .....
BUT,
Cooper Kupp ain't one of them IMHO. :idea2:

This loss is on McVay's coaching & that spiritless playing-not-to-lose strategy. :shock2:
Is how McVay handled the end of the Tampa Game supposed to be HIS:
"URGENT ENJOYMENT"????????? :roll2:

Sheesh. :?

I agree that CK is not the problem but this was one of a number of plays that doomed the team in this game.

As best as i can figure, McVay doesn't trust the Oline (understandably so) and is coaching like a coward because of it.

He certainly played to win against Tampa in the playoffs last year and i'd like to think it's killing him to play this way.

I know it's killing me...

Att a most crucial time, this was a play, had he cut back inside instead of sliding, that may have gained first down yardage OR made it 3rd and short.....covering any number of other questionable plays and changing that L into a W. But yeah, we can hardly put it all on CK.

Even if they won that 13-9 it doesn't change the fact that this team has serious problems. 9 games left. Sure, a 3-5 team can get on a run and make the playoffs. But this 3-5 team is not one of those. There have been absolutely no signs of them breaking out of whatever funk they are in. I don't see them winning more than 3 games the rest of the way. And its gonna take some really good play by the defense to win 3.
