Talking heads are suggesting Rams sign Manning to a one or two year deal. IMO I think this would be another Namath debacle.

I would rather the Rams look at Prescott in the third round or fourth. He was sacked the most of all top tier QB candidates, except Heckenberg, and yet he still had a great TD to INT and comp %. He's bulky enough to take hits. If Mannion isn't the answer, this may be the guy. This option allows the Rams flexibility in the first two rounds to picks other needs and not reaching for QB's.

Prescott Stats:
HGHT 6’2” (Ho Hum)
WT 230 (Bulky)
CMP 316
ATT 477
PCT 66% (Nice)
YRD 3793
TD 29
INT 5
SACKS 32 (TD to Int ratio & COMP % damn good for these numbers)
SPEED 4.69
QBR 151

Well, at least we'd finally have a competent OC :)

I disagree on the Namath comparison.

As Fish prefers to be a run heavy team I think this could be a great move for 1-2 years and here is why.

Draft your development QB (if it's not Mannion) and have them learn under the best preparer in the history of the game.

Also, Manning would provide what this team has been lacking since Warner left - a true leader of the offense that would demand respect and commitment to being great. He'll have the team in the right call almost every time and he's seen everything.

He's no longer a downfield threat but that's not our game.

Big name LA type draw / hire. Get's the ball out quickly (if his receivers are open). Not sure he can throw further than 20 yds downfield anymore though. He did miss time.
I guarantee we will all want to Nuke Omaha after a few games with Manning in horns.
Hope he would turn out better than Joe Willy did in his last attempt.
We all get to study his game Sunday. If ESK stL alleged preferred team wins Sunday, SB 50 is up for grabs.
Plus TGII will help him out. and vice versa

Prescott's 151 rating doesn't suck. His TD /Int numbers look 2013 Fole's Philly-esqe. Could he do that in the pros?

BTW heavy snow in Carolina Sunday. Both teams aren't wired for that. Could change the outcome.

After a dismal performance against the New England Patriots on Sunday, Peyton Manning will announce his retirement, but I would love him as Passing Game Coordinator as I would love to be wrong about the Patriots victory.

The OC slant is a valid point. Maybe the best of all worlds. Sign Manning to 1 year. Draft Prescott in the third or fourth. Can Mannion Play?
QB's Manning, Prescott, Keesum or Mannion.

Draft Order:
1 Ragland
2A Best TE
2B Best WR
3 Prescott
4 Best Center

Exactly!

I do not want him here as our QB. This is our legacy, he has his own.

Now, as a coach - absolutely!!

Actually, as a run-heavy, play-action passing team, the run action is supposed to set up more opportunities for downfield throws, so, in theory, that IS our passing game. Granted, play-action can open up any route with one on one coverage, but chunk plays are the staple off play-action.

well if the rams do ink manning, there's a chance the offensive line will magically and drastically improve in pass pro over night... here's a look at pro football focus pass pro grades for the broncos top 4 top olinemen pre (2011) and post (2012) manning's arrival, funny how that works...
