Outside of Wentz, I don't disagree with any of those other 9 names on the list. It's called 'most impactful moves' so maybe Wentz does have an impact. But what I have to LMFAO about is the fact 8 of them are AFC moves!!! They did a lot in that conference to improve while the NFC hasn't done too much.In the NFC the Eagles picked up Hassan Reddick, Minnesota signed Z'Darius Smith, Tampa signed Russell Gage and the Rams signed Allen Robinson. Those were the impactful moves IMHO. Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there. Top 30 UFA. BEST NFL FREE AGENTS AVAILABLERank6Tyrann MathieuTyrann MathieuS · Age: 30This is my second year making this list without my great friend Chris Wesseling, and I heard his voice so clearly after I initially ranked Mathieu lower. It's hard to put a price on the intelligence, competitiveness and coverage ability Honey Badger brings, but those traits explain how he's set to get the third big, long-term deal of his career, despite being an undersized safety drafted in the third round. Wess was early to see Mathieu's ferocious, versatile style for the transformative force that it was. Like so many people who crossed paths with Wess over the years, Mathieu returned the love. Rank11Odell BeckhamOdell BeckhamWR · Age: 29It makes sense for Beckham to stay in Los Angeles and rehab with the Rams after tearing his ACL in the Super Bowl. If I was an opposing general manager, though, I'd offer Beckham a strong long-term deal with guaranteed money now, because it would pay off in Years 2 and 3. Talents like Beckham aren't often available. Rank12Stephon GilmoreStephon GilmoreCB · Age: 31One could have ranked Gilmore either too high or too low. I wimped out in the middle, because the veteran corner is such a mystery. He was graded well by Pro Football Focus last year, but he never looked explosive physically in the eight games he played with the Panthers, mostly on limited snap counts -- and then he hurt his groin.Rank14Duane BrownDuane BrownOT · Age: 37Brown solved the Seahawks' left tackle problem in 2017; he probably had his worst year in Seattle last season before hitting free agency. He'll turn 37 years old before the 2022 campaign kicks off, and he probably won't continue to command top-tier money, but he shouldn't be that far off.Rank17Bobby WagnerBobby WagnerLB · Age: 32Wagner, like Russell Wilson, showed signs of decline the last two years. He is the rare linebacker who doesn’t come off the field; though, his coverage skills have taken a hit. Still, he'd upgrade most middle linebacker spots, and the instant leadership, smarts and credibility he’d bring is hard to measure. The Cowboys and Rams both make sense as fits.Rank18Jadeveon ClowneyJadeveon ClowneyEdge · Age: 29After seven seasons where his sack totals didn't reflect his true value, Clowney's year in Cleveland went in the other direction, with his nine sacks masking what was probably his most up-and-down campaign. It's worth wondering if all the injuries have taken a toll.Rank21Calais CampbellCalais CampbellDL · Age: 36There is no explanation for why Campbell is still this effective at his age, but he's been "one of one" since he entered the league in 2008 and is worthy of another big one-year contract.Rank24Melvin IngramMelvin IngramEdge · Age: 33It was weird when the Steelers gave up on Ingram during the 2021 season. It was familiar to see Ingram become a game-wrecker for the Chiefs down the stretch.Rank25Rob GronkowskiRob GronkowskiTE · Age: 33It's unclear if Gronk will play again, but he could. His run-blocking is the only part of his game that didn't come with him to Tampa, and they don't pay you for run-blocking. Rank26Jarvis LandryJarvis LandryWR · Age: 29The lack of receivers in this free agent market will help Landry out. He’s a great secondary receiver that will do all the dirty work and become a quarterback’s best friend on third downs. Still just 29, he only missed one game in seven seasons before an injury-marred 2021.Rank31Jerry HughesJerry HughesEdge · Age: 34There are a lot of aging, effective defensive linemen available who can still get it done on a short-term deal. That market has proven to be among the most underpaid in free agency relative to production for years, and Hughes fits the criteria perfectly.Rank33Akiem HicksAkiem HicksDL · Age: 32Hicks' signing in 2016 was one of the best free-agent deals of the last decade. He's down a peg from his peak and has struggled to stay on the field, but he'd be great as a role player; just don't expect star production.Rank43Trey FlowersTrey FlowersDE · Age: 29Flowers was unable to stay healthy the last two seasons, but he'll only be 29 years old this fall and had a PFF grade over 80 in every season between 2017-2020, making him one of the most consistent defensive linemen in football. He should still have good football left in him in the right scheme.Rank44JC TretterJC TretterC · Age: 31The stalwart center barely practiced all season because of knee and ankle injuries, but you wouldn’t have known it after he logged 1,000-plus quality snaps for the fifth straight year (per PFF). He’s unquestionably still an above-average starter, which is not easy to find.Rank48Will FullerWill FullerWR · Age: 28Fuller missed time in 2021 due to a PED suspension, a personal issue and a broken finger. It’s safe to say there are red flags, but the man sure can run fast! Rank49Eric FisherEric FisherOT · Age: 31Fisher took his first snaps as a Colt just eight months removed from tearing his Achilles and had his worst season since his rookie year. That could make him a better value this offseason. Rank53Julio JonesJulio JonesWR · Age: 33There were moments in Tennessee where Julio looked like Julio Jones. But he was only healthy enough to catch 31 passes one year after catching just 51 the year before for the Falcons. He has barely practiced in the last three years, so it's a leap of faith, but the upside for high-level No. 2 receiver production is still there if his body is right.Rank54Bryce CallahanBryce CallahanCB · Age: 30Callahan is one of the league's better slot corners when he’s available. His size (5-9, 188) and possibly related injury history are the only reasons he’s not ranked higher. Rank58DeShon ElliottDeShon ElliottS · Age: 25Now we are at the part of the list where I've ranked certain players I believe in -- like Elliott -- higher than you might find them in another free-agent rundown. Elliott added so much toughness to the Ravens' secondary when he took over as a starter in 2020. He sat out most of last year with a biceps and pectoral injury, and the Ravens missed him greatly. Rank59Anthony BarrAnthony BarrOLB · Age: 30The game-changing splash plays are mostly gone. Still, Barr is the rare linebacker who can rush, tackle and cover, barely leaving the field.Rank63Justin HoustonJustin HoustonEdge · Age: 33It took Houston a while to find a job last year, and then he landed in Baltimore, where he outplayed most of his younger Ravens teammates -- same as it ever was.Rank68Melvin GordonMelvin GordonRB · Age: 29There aren’t many three-down running backs who offer Gordon’s ability to win in short yardage and on third downs without sacrificing big-play ability. Rank78Sheldon RichardsonSheldon RichardsonDT · Age: 31Seems like no one has been on more of our Top 101 lists over the years than Richardson, who still delivers professional snaps on a year-to-year basis. Well, unless it’s this next guy … Rank79Ndamukong SuhNdamukong SuhDL · Age: 35I admittedly have a soft spot for Suh, who was absolutely the Bucs' best defensive player in their playoff loss to the Rams. He still shows up in big moments.Rank91Kevin KingKevin KingCB · Age: 27It’s a shame King got hurt last season, because he looked at home under first-year Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry.Rank93Larry OgunjobiLarry OgunjobiDT · Age: 28Ogunjobi is that guy who gives up a lot while searching for his own splash plays, one reason he could be on his third team in as many years. Rank95P.J. WilliamsP.J. WilliamsDB · Age: 29Safeties who can hit aren’t in vogue, but my god, Williams’ hits can be breathtaking. He’s developed into a good slot defender who can cover tight ends.Rank96Dont'a HightowerDont'a HightowerLB · Age: 32It took Hightower a while to knock off the rust following his year off. His bigger issue is how the game has changed to target players like him in pass coverage, but his leadership and intelligence are both off the charts. Rank99Riley ReiffRiley ReiffOT · Age: 33The Bengals missed Reiff's steady play at right tackle when he hurt his ankle in mid-December.Rank100Joe HadenJoe HadenCB · Age: 33One of the great signings of the Kevin Colbert era in Pittsburgh, Haden could still provide quality snaps on a year-to-year basis. Many fans believe we need Edge and there are a few on that list. He does say some outlandish things from time to time. But he also hits the mark alot too. As soon as Watson was rumored to go to either New Orleans or Atlanta, he called Ryan to Indy. He sees Rodgers for what he is....a great talent who is self absorbed and concerned more about his numbers than winning. He has had an on going feud with Cleveland fans over Mayfield and he likes Wentz to a degree. He loved the Stafford move from the jump and continues to be in his corner. I think he's on the mark a lot....as much or more than anybody else in the business. There are times I strongly disagree with his takes and like you say, some of the stuff (numbers etc) with which he backs it up. But I prefer him to Simms and Florio, Wiley and Acho or Skip and Shannon ( though I enjoy Sharpe bitch slapping Skip). But like you say, it's entertainment....but better than GMFB or Total Access.I like his repeat guests.....Peter King, Greg Cosell and the guy who is the Chiefs fan (forget his name). Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there. CBs? Some there too. TE? Gronk won't play for any QB except Brady. Hmmm. I wonder if that's really a fact? Suh? Sorry bud, Stafford says "fuck off". Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there.
