THE. LOS. ANGELES. RAMS.
It just sounds right. It makes sense. It feels natural.
Just wanted to introduce myself with my first post on this board. I also posted this in another Rams forum today. I went from 1 Rams board yesterday to 3 today.
I have been a Rams fan since the day I was born in 1968. I grew up with them and have stayed with them through the STL years and now back home.
It feels like being reunited with long lost friends, doesn't it?!
I watched McCutcheon run all over the league. I've seen Jack Youngblood destroy QBs. I witnessed the Super Bowl breakthrough of 1979 and the heartbreak as a 12 year old watching them lose SB XIV (WADDY WAS OPEN!). Watched Ivory Sully block the Wersching FG in 82. Got to be a part of the Dickerson years and the early/great Everett years. Saw Flipper run off through the tunnel in New York and watched him set the single game receiving yards record. Loved every second of the 5 sack game Kevin Greene had on Joe Montana. And I got to be part of the GSOT years and the SB XXXIV victory.
My guys growing up were Pat Haden, Lawrence McCutcheon, Jack Youngblood, Eric Dickerson, Nolan Cromwell, Kevin Greene, Jackie Slater, Dennis Harrah, Henry Ellard and Isaac Bruce.
I also loved our lesser publicized guys like Bill Bain, Mike Guman, Anthony Newman, Rod Perry, Mike Barber, Mike Wilcher, Ron Brown, LeRoy Irvin, Toby Wright. The list goes on and on.
I look forward to a renewal of our great LA-SF rivalry. But mostly I look forward to an annual trip to LA with my son each year and CANNOT wait for opening day. I hope we will be there tailgating from the early hours with my long standing Rams brethren.
Enjoy this day! LONG LIVE THE LA RAMS!
Now go kick some Niner ASS!
