First 2021 NFL Prognostication… You heard it here first…! ( Or maybe second…)

Here’s my fearless prediction for the beginning of the 2021 NFL season…

The Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers will kickoff their season the second Thursday in September at SoFi Field Los Angeles…

* The 'now-traditional’ Super Bowl Champion season opener…

* The first fan attended football game in SoFi Stadium… Hopefully sold out… (With - hopefully - at least 50% Rams fans in attendance…)

* The 'GOAT' Tom Brady vs 9-Stafford - the new 'kid' in town… (Everybody’s talking' 'bout…)

* The old Quarterback whisperer (Bruce Ariens) vs the new Quarterback whisperer (Sean McVay)

* The 3-time Defensive Player of the Year (and Co…) vs the world champions…

Questions abound: With the Defense… the Offensive line… and even the Wide Receiving corps all in varying states of flux… Can the team be rebuilt better than before…? a la Colonel Steve Austin… (Given that we are already well over the Cap, even his $6 million figure is too much for us right now…!)

And so then, McSnead reputations hang in the balance…

Stay tuned… As the excitement builds…

I think the league would like that matchup for the kickoff game but, typically, the game is hosted by the Super Bowl champs.

I realize that… But there have been a few exceptions… Anything is possible though… ;)

Just do not see the Bucs playing anywhere but Tampa to open the season. They will hopefully be able to pack their stadium and celebrate the SB victory. Why would the league take that away from them? I do believe the league will have the Rams open the season at home to truly christen SoFi with a packed house. I'm thinking Detroit might be an intriguing matchup to kick off our 2021 season and would draw viewers in just because of the Goff/Stafford deal. The other direction that could go is something in Primetime. If that is the case, I could see one of the NFC West opponents. Maybe a Monday night 2nd slot west coast game?

Prediction. If it is a home game it will be against the Cowgirls.
If it is an away game it will be against the Patrcheats.

If it's in Tampa, I hope it's hot and Brady melts into a puddle.

I can see them opening against the Boys. Makes sense. Would be a huge TV draw for a Thursday night primetime game to kickoff the 2021 season. As much as I hate the Cowboys, they do pull in viewers nationally.

Do we play the NFL south next season? As far as the Bucs it doesn't matter. We have the second place schedule and the Bucs were second place. Unless where they finish the playoffs decides that.

We play the NFC North and the AFC South in 2021.

In 2022, we play the NFC South and the AFC West.

So we're going to play Tampa Bay 4 consecutive years (2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022) :shock2:

It's weird how that happens since we went to 4 divisions in each conference. Previously we played Green Bay every year from 1988-1997 (10), the Giants 1999-2003 (5). Since expansion and realignment we've played Washington 5 consecutive years (2008-2012), Tampa 5 (2012-2016), Saints 4 (2016-2019) and Dallas 4 (2017-2020). So with what will be 4 straight vs Tampa becomes 9 of 11 seasons (2012 - 2022, excluding 2017 & 2018). What's with 'the bays'? Weird.
