RFU Announces Opening Day QB

Who's it gonna be guys? We have the awesome privelege - or curse - of selecting the opening day QB for McVay &.... well I guess it's just McVay at this point eh? Maybe between doing ALL of the coaching jobs himself, he might be able to lose enough "Chunkie" to wear the bone colored hoodie. Note to McV, it's not the shirt that makes your gut look big - it's your gut :o
But I digress. Feel free to select who you THINK will be under center, as well as who you'd LIKE under center, and please enlighted as to why, so we can all learn from you and get smarter. God knows I need that... 8-)

For me, I don't believe there is any way in hell Goff returns. If nothing else, just for the public execution/gutting/ bus tire treads across his chest, how could he possibly do anything at this point other than circle the future date on his calendar to throttle the RAMS if given the chance? I would love DW, simply because that would be an LA/Rams version of "Showtime" in L.A. More practically, I would actually lean toward a Sam Darnold - think McV can make him a big star.

What says yall?

My head is telling me that Goff will be traded to Detroit and that the Rams will work to keep as much of the team intact and go with more of a reclamation project like Darnold. Or Wentz if he can be had cheaply or something along those lines.

My gut tells me the Rams will want to make a statement and a splash and someone work a deal for Watson.

I hear you on the Watson side. Thing is, media and DW's Twitter, and Jalen Ramsey - all signs point to Watson WANTING to come to LA. And he does have a no trade clause in his current contract, which means he has to approve any trade/destination. If he really wants to come to the Rams, then he can force that deal to happen on the Texans end anyway.

At the same time, that gear-shifting joystick QB action in DW has got to have McVay dreaming of Superbowls with Watson mixed in with his bag of tricks.

It’s becoming apparent that something is wrong between Mcvay and Goff.

So, going with that - I think Darnold is the best and most possible option without destroying the team to get someone like Watson or Rodgers. No interest in Stafford.

Agree.

I also think that McVay wants a QB he can build together with and thought it was Goff, and then decided it isn’t. So, Darnold fits that as well.

Plus, Darnold is from Cali? Didn’t flourish w Jets, but I think he has talent that hasn’t been seen yet.

I’d love Watson. But, I’d hate to damage the team overall for what it would cost to get him.

That said, I’d obviously be happy to have him.
