Policy spinning Carson as ready

It’s always good to talk to Carmen Policy, on all matters, but specifically now in his role as the point man for the Carson stadium project, as the Raiders and Chargers reach the final stages of their attempt to get NFL approval for the site.

That vote is scheduled for next week in Houston. Earlier this week, Policy made the Carson pitch to three powerful committees–17 different team owners were represented.

How do things shape up heading down the final sprint? Policy said the common perception that the Rams’ Inglewood site and the Carson site are essentially tied at 9 votes a piece–enough for either to block the other project–probably isn’t correct.

Policy told me that he thinks the Chargers and Raiders have “significantly more than nine” votes and he thinks Carson might actually have in the “low teens,” which would definitely be a stronger count than the Rams have for Inglewood at the moment.

If you want a detailed breakdown of how this all might shake out–the process, the interests, the power brokers–just listen to Policy. He’s the best at it.

Who cares what Policy says? Even Carson has moved on from him and has now put all their eggs in the Iger basket.

I didn't read the article, but "might having low teens" doesn't even come close to getting it done. The Chargers won't get the votes. They'll have to agree to partner/work with the Rams in Inglewood.

It's time for an (e)Iger sanction. Hemlock, make my day.

I hear ya SoCalRam78. He's a non factor at this point. He's just trying to earn a buck. The $1 Spanos paid him.

I actually like this part, that's less than half...

Even Bernie was saying Carson had 18 votes. I guess Policy didn't get the memo.

Carmen only presented to 17 Owners when they presented in NYC. Some of my notes after listening to audio.

- Financing is ready
- Site is Shovel ready
- We are basically ready to go, and ready to move forward immediately.
- NFL has determined that it is an acceptable plan and program
- Iger was not at this meeting.
- It makes tremendous sense for this to happen now, everything is aligned-up perfectly. All financing is place, and all teams are ready to go.
- Way more than 9 votes in favor in Carson
- 10 owners are undecided, and it will be these undecided voters who determine which site gets approved.
- Goodhell has responsibility to render a report, but he doesn't have to make a recommendation.
- He feels recommendation from Committees will be what's sway undecided owners.
