https://twitter.com/RapSheetThe LA Rams are making Jalen Ramsey the highest paid defensive back in NFL history and by a wide margin. The extension is for $105M over 5 years ($21M per year) & has $71.2M in guarantees at signing. This brings the DB market into a new stratosphere. Money bag Money bagMoney bag

Now we know why he was so confident in his situation. He knew he was going to get it done. Good deal for both. Rams get to keep an elite lockdown corner and Ramsey gets paid. Another perceived malcontent coming to LA and changing the perception. McVay does it right.

So, in essence, the Rams' theory is that if you have the best DL in the game on the front end, and a top 5 CB on the back end, you can build around them and be successful.
Makes sense to me.

So does he 'friend' the Rams again and go back to Blue and Yellow color scheme on whatever he change recently to black and white now?
Imagine how Mel Blount, Mike Haynes, Willie Brown, even our own Dick 'Night Train" Lane would / feel about this. Great era to be a top NFL'er.
Glad he's ours though. Hope he's worth every dime.

I wonder how the deal is structured with all the uncertainty around next year's cap?

Hard to manipulate a moving target huh? What used to always go up... I hope that they have this nailed down with Kupp and other expirings in mind as well. I'm fairly certain more details to follow.

Was just texting Elvis about the Kupp deal. I wonder if they are waiting to see Van Jeff and leveraging his performance against Kupp? Probably not and there would be 31 teams in line to snatch Kupp if we let him go. I posit McVay needs 3 top WRs for his offense AND good TE play. So, hopefully a Kupp deal announcement if forthcoming.
And, I sent you a PM.

Maybe the black and white motif is more a statement on the social injustice and deeply rooted racism that has been brought to the fore lately?

I had the same thought. Does VJ make CK expendable? We are in cap hell and those lighter 1st deals can help navigating through it if you nail it in the draft.
All fingers crossed.
Replied to your PM.
