Nice we got this Brandon Staley guy eh!
He taught the 6'5" 248 lb. Justin Hollis at Denver about playing LB in the NFL. Hollis was Broncos 2019 5th Round Pick (156 overall) and played inside in numerous Bronco games replacing an injured ILB.....even though Hollis was an ER at Oregon, and before that a DE at Martin HS in Arlington TX opposite some guy named Myles Garrett. :shock2:

DRAFTSCOUT.COM had Hollis going as high as 3rd Round in 2019, and no lower than 5th Round. Here's his Combine stats:
40 Time (Elec) 4.50
40 Time (HH) 4.45 :o
BP: 25 reps
3-Cone : 7.06
Vert J: 36.5"
WingSpan: 79.5"
Arm: 33 3/8"
Hand: 10 3/8"

The Hollis procurement just took the pressure off of Terrell Lewis situation IMO. Plus Hollis has NFL game time, plus knowledge of Staley's System...
...PLUS HE IS HIGHLY COACHABLE AS HE WAS AN EDGE AND PLAYED ILB FOR STALEY!!! :!2: :arrow2: 8-)
....plus the kid is only 24. :idea2:

This is a great waiver-wire pickup....like having an extra Draft Pick IMO.

Some late edit trivia....Denver got the 5th Round Pick to tab Hollis from the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for former Bronco QB Trevor Siemian. :idea2:

Just watched a Denver Bronco tape on Justin Hollis at both ILB and OLB over at Original Herd........

this Hollis kid looks like a poorman's Leonard Floyd :o ....same height and weight & edge-setting prowess as Floyd, the former Bear and 7th overall pick in 2016 Draft! :shock2: :arrow2: 8-)

Starting to look like a helluva waiver-wire pick-up by McSnead and Staley!!! 8-)
Albeit they were Bronco hi-lite reels and all....BUT, this Hollis guy looked more disruptive than Samson Ebukam, or Obo have been for us, to these old Rams-watching eyes.

Funny you mentioned the other board name. You are not allowed to name other boards on that site.

Hi Professor,

In my best Johnny Carson voice:

"I did NOT know that!" :idea2:

Back to the Hollis Purloinment....this former Oregon Duck ER could be "the Missing Piece" to Brandon Staley's 2020 Rams D.

Tall, fast, NFL-game baptized already, ILB/OLB versatility (and coachability), trained by our own DC in Staley's system and nomenclature, cheap and affordable....AND
....did I mention he was also tall!! ;) :arrow2: :lol2:

This acquisition of Justin Hollis has made me start to think about trading Terrell Lewis for a 2021 Draft Pick!! :shock2: Oh wait.....sorry :oops2: ...
I was having a Bill O'Brien moment there sportsfans!! :P :arrow2: :lol2:

I'm a glass half full as the next guy but I'm taking a wait and see approach to Hollins. He was cut. Its not like we traded for the kid. he was cut and cleared waivers until we could pick him up. I'm hoping he contributes on special teams and can come in to spell the starters once in awhile without a huge drop-off. Not expecting too much more from him.

I so love these positive Canuck posts!

I'm hoping the Rams perform well and these continue.

Don't get me wrong, I like the negative Higbee/Fowler posts as well...Those seem to ignite a fire only Canuck can start.

Keep them coming my friend!

Los Ramos picked Washington Husky DT Greg Gaines at #134 in the 2019 Draft.....22 picks later at #156 Denver picked Oregon Duck ER Justin Hollis....so it's not like Hollis is some throw-a-dart-at-the-wall Seventh Rounder or something.....plus he played alot of downs in 15 games with the Broncos (25.6% of Bronco 2019 snaps) whilst filling-in for injured Denver starters both at ILB, and his more natural OLB.

Both Gaines and Hollis were named to the 2018 FIRST TEAM ALL-PAC-12 TEAM.....so neither guy was a slouch in a pretty darn good NCAA Conference eh! BTW, where did that Goff guy ply his craft, huh??? :o

Another thing is that Los Ramos had to spend Draft Treasure (Rams 4th Round Pick) to secure the services of Greg Gaines who will backup Sebastien Joseph-Day and the injured A'Shawn Robinson.....

whereas Justin Hollis will back up Samson Ebukam, and the injured Terrell Lewis.....and ALL :o it cost Los Ramos for Hollis' services was:

the Long Distance Phone Call to the NFL HQ guy who handles WaiverWire Claims.....IOW, Snead purloined an additional Draft Pick IE. the 2019 5th Round Pick #156 Overall.....
for nadda, bupkus, dick, nuthin', not even "a warm 6Pack Of Beer" (apologies to Buddy Ryan ;) ).

Justin Hollis can also hopefully learn some NFL tricks from his older wiser OLB teammate AND HIS 6'5" 240ish CLONE, one Leonard Floyd, no?

To me, Justin Hollis has value....and Snead snagged him for absolutely nothing! :idea2:

IN FACT....Hollis and our other 2020 backup OLB/ER guy Jachai Polite (NYJets 3rd Round Pick in the 2019 Draft) is also on Los Ramos Roster for bupkus. This Snead guy produces value from thin air...
....in my best Elaine Benes:

"HE'S LIKE A SVENJOLLYI!!!" ;) :arrow2: :lol2:
