It's unfortunate the Brown has been injured for about half the season. Havenstein and Brown are the building blocks to a decent OL. Hopefully, Robinson turns into a decent LT or Guard. This coming year, they need to draft or sign a Center. Max Tuerk from USC seems like he would be a good pick in the 3rd round (some mock draft have him projected to go to the Rams in the 3rd round).

Rob Havenstein has been solid since day 1. I felt pretty good about him when I watched the film of him handling Randy Gregory against Nebraska in college. He's Jon Runyan without the penalties and dirty plays. He has the perfect amount of nasty IMO. He washed the DE right out of the Gurley's TD run. Also we have TWO top ten corners. I'd tell Chris Long, Saffold and Cook to hit the bricks to resign the secondary. Also if it comes down to it, I'd cut JL55 to keep Mark Barron.

I've watched almost every game the last 15 years. I just know enough to lock on to the most consistent play makers on the team after watching so many years of bad football. JL55 doesn't have one FF is his career! He's paid like a play maker. All Barron has done is make big hits and big plays since he's been here. I really think we've defined his best role. Also Hayes is a FA and we will need Long's money to resign him as well. This team is at a point with talent that there is no room for sentimental locker room guys. This team needs play makers to be consistent winners. There are a lot of pieces to build around only a few pieces of dead weight IMO. Saffold, Long, Cook, Foles and JL55. Also keep in mind, money will be needed in two years to resign Tree and give Donald mega money. You could draft someone like Reggie Ragland or Kentrel Brothers to play in the Middle. Could also draft another decent Guard prospect to fill Saffold's spot. Save $5M and get healthier.

I too fall in love with individual players and personalities on every Ram team each year. In the end though, I want what's best for the Rams to be consistent winners and some tough cuts have to be made to perennial fan favorites sometimes. If they could cut Ike and Torry, JL55 and Long ain't a huge deal IMO.

I don't think making calls and shifts are gonna be that big of a deal to learn. What is Frank Bush and Gregg Williams for? The good thing is the new MLB would be the only new starter. Everyone else should know their assignments down pat by now. I bet TJ or Rodney could call the D from the back too. Just need way more speed and controlled aggression at the position. Behind Donald and Brockers there should be some space to eat. I'm also curious to see how Hager looks in Camp. He was always around the ball in preseason.
