(
(KFVS) -
Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder is asking for more details on the funding plan for a new football stadium in St. Louis.

Kinder accused Gov. Jay Nixon's office of not being transparent about the stadium proposal.

A city aldermanic committee approved a financing plan for a new $1 billion stadium on Dec. 10.

The Ways and Means Committee approved the plan by a 7-2 vote Thursday. The full Board of Aldermen must still approve it.

Owners of the Rams, San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders all have proposed moving to Los Angeles. The NFL has a Dec. 30 deadline for the cities to submit plans to retain their teams.

In an interview with Bernie Miklasz on radio station WXOS, NFL Executive Vice President Eric Grubman expressed skepticism on the plan, saying the city "will fall short of having a compelling proposal that would attract the Rams."

Kinder wants Nixon to go before the St. Louis Board of Alderman and explain what exactly the proposal means for Missouri taxpayers.

Kinder said Nixon's commissioner of administration had few answers to questions from lawmakers at a legislative committee hearing on Nov. 30.

“He hadn’t even read a finance agreement, so the crucial questions about the state’s liability could not be answered,” Kinder said in a news release. “What happens, for example, if construction costs exceed projections? The co-chairman of Gov. Nixon’s stadium task force last month assured St. Louis city officials that the city would be off the hook, indicating the burden would fall to the state. That means taxpayers all across Missouri could be left to pay the bill.”

Kinder says that the St. Louis City Comptroller opposed the plan because it doesn’t guarantee the city will keep any minimum game-day revenues necessary to cover its debt service payments.

Utterly amazing how shady all these task force bozos and mostly the Governor are. And at the end of the day, the proposal is a huge pile of turd. At least in California, they're up front about everything and the voting process.

New documents say new NFL stadium plans cost $10 million

POSTED 5:19 PM, DECEMBER 17, 2015, BY BETSEY BRUCE, UPDATED AT 07:36PM, DECEMBER 17, 2015

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - The final vote on a new NFL stadium financing plan for St. Louis comes Friday afternoon at City Hall. It will be the last chance for city aldermen to voice their opinion on the plan.

Meanwhile bills for just the design phase of the project continue to mount. Documents secured from the St. Louis Regional Sports Authority under a Freedom of Information request show the design costs could total nearly 12 million dollars when completed. On top of that there are legal bills plus a confidential amount of money to cover options for riverfront property where the stadium would be built. Questions remain as to who would pay those bills if the stadium is never built or if there is not enough game day revenue to pay off the mortgage.

St. Louis City Comptroller Darlene Green cast a vote against the contract Wednesday saying it did not secure sufficient revenue to cover the city's payments for stadium bonds.

Missouri's Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder shares similar concerns. He said Thursday, "You are dealing with a deal where all Missouri taxpayers may be on the hook for all cost overruns or losses. We need an answer to that question among many others."

The chairman of the regional sports authority Jim Shrewsberry said if the stadium is not built "there is a possibility of a shortfall " at the RSA. The board received a $3 million line of credit this week from the state of Missouri's Development Finance Board. Board member Lt. Gov. Kinder voted against that. He is calling on Missouri Governor Jay Nixon to explain how the stadium would be funded and why state legislators will not have a chance to vote on it.

As soon as the St. Louis City alderman vote to approve the project and Mayor Francis Slay signs it, a lawyer representing taxpayers will challenge the legislation. John Ammann is already representing city taxpayers who say it is illegal to use public financing for a stadium without a city wide vote.

It sure started sour. But between these articles and Goodells letter, it definitely ended better.

The only improvement would be a BoA no vote. That would end it now.
Still, I guess they won't make the deadline which is just about 5 business days away.
I thought the pie in the sky fuzzy stuff coming from all of those checked boxes was just a bunch of excrement .

Good luck selling that McFab Spanardson

And the Rams won!
