Jay Z helped Rams celebrate their win over Lions
By Des Bieler December 13 at 9:40 PM
The Rams would have been happy enough with simply getting their first win in six games on Sunday. They were ecstatic to be joined in their locker room afterwards by none other than Jay Z.
Here’s hoping the superstar rapper wasn’t expecting to slip unnoticed in and out of Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. For one thing, there was no chance he was going to disappear into the crowd, because with the Rams widely expected to move to Los Angeles after the season, there basically was no crowd.
For another thing … he’s Jay Z. And apart from being a giant in the music industry, he also has his own talent agency, Roc Nation, which happens to have Rams running back Todd Gurley among its clients.
From that standpoint, Jay Z picked a great day to go and see the Rams in person. They beat the Lions, 21-14, as Gurley trampled Detroit for 140 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
After the game, the rookie back received congratulations from Jay Z.
The rapper was also, of course, obliged to greet and take selfies with plenty of other star-struck members of the Rams.
There was some speculation on the Internet that, in addition to the Gurley connection, Jay Z might be associating with the decidedly non-glamorous Rams in anticipation that they, indeed, will be located much closer to Hollywood next year. In that case, the team could have plenty more celebrity visits to its locker room — assuming it can cobble together a few more wins.
