Arguably the best CB tandem in the NFL, i'd sure like to keep them both...

The franchise tag number for CBs was $13M last year, so I'd pass on that strategy. Transition tag for CBs was $11M so I'd pass on that option as well.

I'd try to get both locked up, but not at a price that would prevent getting a real LT or WR on this team.

I agree with Indrid Cold. Hopefully, the Rams could sign one or both of them to long term deals, but I doubt that they'll be able to sign both of them.

For those interested, here's the 2016 free agent list.

Interesting dilemma. Janoris seems like the more skilled player, but Johnson has the longer NFL shelf life. I've always felt Johnson could be a good safety. He reminds me of LA Ram great Johnnie Johnson. If Trumaine can remain a Ram through the next contract he could transition to safety really well and extend his career. I'd pay Tru, give Janoris a fair offer, but not cry if 21 took off to chase the money. Playing in a shiny new palace with lots of attention could be a factor, you never know.

Keep them both at any cost, they are what allow the blitzing and heavy pass rushes. Couple them with hopefully a healthy Gaines and the growth of Joyner and Roberson and we might have one of the best secondaries in the NFL.

Agreed with both OldSchool and Indrid Cold (welcome by the way, glad you came by) but how do we do that. I don't know if the allure of our team is going to entice these guys to take a pay cut. With the staff under heat, and a possible relocation, some may feel it's time to move on. LA would create some incentives but I believe Snead has his hands full this off season with all our FA's and holes at key positions.
We may have seen the last of guys like Long....

Don't think we'll have to go cheap. We have a ton of cap space and ways to create more.
